Hello Friends! Jim Nantz here welcoming you to week 2 action in The Brew Crew’s ninth season. Last week saw the Foregasms jump out to the early season lead with the Duffer Downing Doubles, Moonshine Runners, and Bourbon Bandits hot on their trail. We’ll see if these two teams can keep up their momentum this week. Let’s see where we’re playing this week where our schedulers saw a red door and wanted it painted black

The Americas Tour
The Americas Tour heads north in week 2 up to Canada’s British Columbia. Blackcomb, designed by Mitch Mallahan is a fictional, Swiss themed, par 72 course spanning 7347 yards. Blackcomb was his entry into the 2024 National Treasure Design Contest where he selected Stanley Thompson as his architect. Greens are 170 but can be pushed to 186 easily. Three manipulated tees create different challenges across the course.

Rest of the World Tour
The Rest of the World Tour heads to Germany’s southwest region. Black Forest, Germany is inspired by the large forested mountain range known as The Black Forest. Historically known for forestry and the mining of ore deposits, the region has now become a popular tourist destination. The region is best known for its typical farmhouses with their sweeping half-hipped roofs, its Black Forest gateaus, Black Forest ham, Black Forest gnomes, Kirschwasser and the cuckoo clock.

Now let’s get to our One for the Road course of the week: Tubman’s Run
Designed by Troy Stokes, Tubman’s Run is a fictional, delta themed, par 71 course spanning 7414 yards. Tubman’s Run was his entry into the National Treasure Contest. The course features 4 tees and pin sets with default 171 greens providing a test for players. However the greens also play well on 155 or 186. He chose William Flynn as his designer to follow and used 8 key principles that are mentioned in his TGC thread. The course plays well on all tees, pins and winds and he feels the course would fit in Kinetic or Elite if conditions are toughened and was featured on the Kinectic Tour last week for the Nebraska Open.

Hoping to do better by my great team mates zooby97 SkyBlueBen and deathstar I decided to try something new and started off with the OFTR. Ball striking was decent but was still having big problems executing my puts - espcially the short ones where it's needs a gentle hand. The putting coursed several three-puts and missed opportunities, but all together it was a better OFTR than last week so progress 

After the OFTR I got a bit stubborn cause I wanted to do better. I made a little adjustment to ingame sensitivity which must have been a good idea cause my putting was a lot smoother. I was a little unlucky going round the edge on 3 or 4 puts but that's life. So with improved putting and great ball striking I was very pleased with round 1 score and especially the strong finish where I hit some good approach shots and hole a few nice testing puts. I hope for the team that I can keep this up throughout the week.

Well this sucks.

Mid way through the 3'rd round and right when I tee off the power flicks. Computer shuts down.

Wait for router to finish rebooting.

Load game back and it has me as if I just installed the game, going through setup and tutorials.

Yet top right has my HCP and coins all normal.

Shut down steam and going to try again. Hope my settings come back.

I do have an older profile folder saved from about 3 months ago and can plop that in. And hope it works.

I AM NOT STARTING FROM FRESH NO MATTER WHAT. I will have to retire if thats the case. No @!$#ing way do I have it in me to regrind fittings in a game I can barely tolerate as it is.

Yes and no.

I got lucky. I loaded up an old profile I saved (from April 28) and it worked.

I'm back with all my fittings and settings. Went into the round and it started where I left off.

Weirder part is, the fittings part of my profile seems like it's still the same as before my power outage. I had been making some changes to fittings over time and those changes seem to be still there.

Now off to finish up. Wasn't doing so great, especially the World tour part, not jiving with the course. Was 3 under when things went tits up. Sitting around 18 under for the 2+ rounds up to now

My only collection of re as far as Black Forest goes it that it is a cake. My mom and sister loved it. I thought it was just ok right until the moment one hits the cherries in the middle. Mein Gott Siegfried, could never understand why anyone would want to populate a dessert with fruit.

And this sums up how my golf experiance went today.Done for the week. Yet there is apparently a promo event going on but since I'm more than likely not coming back for the next season probably wont play it. May have a go at a round just for the lol's if itching to play some golf but thats about it.
