Just played and here are my thoughts. Shot -4 on the front and think you did really well on planting on a few holes. I would recommend panting rocks especially on those steeper slopping hills. I think the slips were just a bit too much for me. There were 6 or 5’s? Of those I think only one was reachable on two. I even hit driver off the deck on the fairway of course and was still short. Hole 2 Seemed like it was a blind tee shot on a par 3. Loved the one hole that kind of over Looked the road and you used retainer walls for a tunnel look that looked nice but don’t think you could see it from the tee. Hole 13 was just too brutal for me. Short pitch for eagle and the ball comes all the way back down the fairway twice. Hope I’m not trying to sound too critical but I have seen a couple videos of Your work and think you have a great potential. Thanks for the great feedback! You don't sound critical at all - I'm enjoying the feedback and it only helps my future projects. I've been wondering about some slopes/elevations and I need to do a better job of getting inside Alister MacKenzie's brain. When I walk Augusta National I am always in awe of the extreme bunker depth/faces as well as the dramatic change in slope/elevation - meanwhile the course is walkable and I think from the highest point of the Clubhouse to the lowest at Ray's Creek is not even 150' difference - maybe closer to 100'. There's something to be said for me to build more skill in using elevation while keeping it more realistic. I do try to make my middle decks (white on this course) the sweet spot for most golfers. I grew up in a golf world where only the big guns even played the back decks and so I believe they should provide the biggest challenge - in this case making many of the par 5's not reachable in 2 - plus with what Bryce has done to the game (and I'm sure virtual golf soon) - those back decks need to be tough. In saying that it only plays roughly 7100 yards. The road was built before the routing/course and so it really isn't meant to be a visual for the player - I'm big in builder true course infrastructure even if the golfer never gets to see it while playing a round. The swimming pool and hot tub area in at the clubhouse courtyard is gorgeous - but nobody will see that unless they book a room at the Retreat. The idea of the road was to allow for traffic that didn't interrupt the speed of play - the idea is that balls would fly over the road and be no risk to vehicles. I feared that if the road was visible from the tee then an errant golf ball could get in there at cause a crack or dent in a guests car. Agreed that #13 is likely the toughest hole - the intent was a long par 4 but during playtesting I had to decide between making it a little shorter or reducing some hazards at the green. So the green become bunkerless, but the slope up the approach remained. I debated that hole right up until I released it. It plays a little easier from the middle decks. After I playtested it from the back decks and scored par a few times - I was satisfied that it was worthy of staying as a tough hole. It gets a little easier if the dogleg is cut along with a well shaped left to right shot. Thanks again for the comments and it's given me helpful things to think about and apply. Thanks for the kind words and hopefully I can make each course a little better than the one before it.

FYI to the previous posts. #13 image is here. A dog leg right to an elevated green without any bunkers. Plays 529 from the tips, 498 from the middle decks. When tucking in close to the bunkers you can knock 20-30yards off the length. Making it closer to 500 yards. Driver then 200 yards to go. And from overhead....

Hole 2 Seemed like it was a blind tee shot on a par 3. If Coore and Crenshaw can do it, So can Jerry. Nothing wrong with a blind par 3. Edit: 2 at Miramichi isn't even blind.

@greenside , I really enjoyed the look and feel of the course, especially your Volcano hole #8 - mainly because I hit the green and held it.
Really nice tree selection and placement with the rolling terrain felt good, too. As already noted, some slopes were a bit of challenge, but it's fun to stretch the imagination a bit as well.
I couldn't fly around on the Xbox to see the infrastructure elements, but that was quite a clubhouse, and I can imagine what you put into it from the superintendent's perspective...
Thanks, and I look forward to some more videos, too!

He certainly can do what he wants but on the tips it sure seems blind to me. You can see the top of the flag but that’s it. In other posts on the board this is mentioned and if you have the ability to show off the hole it’s suggested you do it (think Matt F mentioned this) here’s the pic

interesting with that picture because it is blind from 3rd person camera but wouldn't be blind from the player's perspective. Alas we play from a 3rd person camera so angles and views look different. Moving the tee box up 2 yards would probably fix this one pretty easily

Moving the tee box up 2 yards would probably fix this one pretty easily I’m not saying it’s a totally blind view. I just played it and on my opinion I would like to be able to see the whole green on a par 3 especially on a down hill hole. Uphill I totally understand having a blind shot. Maybe it’s nit picking but as I see comments from reviewers that always seem to mention blind shots I thought I would bring it up to Jerry because I know he put a lot of time and effort and would hate he didn’t feel he got some good feedback (not that I’m an expert).

I believe you gave me some feedback on the 'impractical IRL' nature of one of my efforts in the last game (Long Lake), Jerry.
Meh with the critics, I liked it and am scheduling it in my (relatively solo) society. Any moniker you'd like it to have ? I'm usually whimsical with them, but if I can offer the designer first crack, that seems fair.
The society is "The Island of Misfit Courses", populated mainly by courses that for some reason ended up 'not accepted', but seem at LEAST as enjoyable as the weekly tour stops we encounter. Being the holiday season, the name sort of came from the 'Rudolph' kid's TV special.
I'm hosting on XB, and laladiesman is mirroring a PS version.
