So I finally have 18 holes laid out and will be posting a beta for feedback on play before I make it look pretty. One thing I noticed when test playing is there are some yellow grids around some pins, but when in edit mode they are green. They seem to putt ok, but is this something I should try to fix?

I wouldn't kill yourself trying to fix them. Yellow is OK in this game. If it's anything like the last version the angle of approach matters too. What's yellow from one angle might be green from another. But as I mentioned, unless the pin is on a red slope or in a sea of orange and red, you should be fine.

Putt to those pins from 7-15’ on sidehill lies and you’ll be able to tell if it’s too severe. Also hit a few from above the hole.
1) Can the putt be made with any regularity? 2) Do missed sidehill putts hit at a proper pace stop within 3’ of the hole? 3) Do missed downhill putts hit at a proper pace stop within 5’ of the hole?
If the answer is “Yes” to all of them then you’re fine.
If the answer to some those questions is “No” then the slope is may need 1–3” of softening (assuming it’s yellow).
If the answer to all of those questions is “No” then have your eyes checked for colorblindness because you’re probably putting on orange slopes. 😉
A good technique I’ve learned to do is look at your hole locations from every direction. The slope colors you from below the hole may look completely different when you rotate the camera 90*.
