Tom Brady has been all serious business in getting the Buccaneers into the playoffs for the first time in 13 years as their starting quarterback in 2020. But you can bet he's thoroughly enjoying the fact the Bucs have a chance to win Super Bowl 55 while his former team, the Patriots, have been eliminated from the playoffs for the first time since 2008
It might be easier to think Brady is having a chuckle over his current fruitful situation in Tampa Bay vs. how bad Bill Belichick had it in New England without him thanks to his long-time go-to tight end Rob Gronkowski being by his side. Brady convinced Gronkowski to come out of brief retirement and go along for what's been a fun ride playing in the NFL again.

Is this it for Bill Belichick? It doesn’t feel like Belichick is slowing down. But, at some point, Belichick is going to walk away from the Patriots’ job. Belichick tried rolling things back for one more push this season, band-aiding together a roster that was missing the core of its defense due to Covid defections and which lacked a quarterback given Tom Brady’s move to Florida.
Is Belichick, at his advanced age, post-Covid, ready and willing after a par year to start another rebuild? He has no quarterback, and the backbone of the roster that delivered the last Super Bowl is starting to creak – a majority have already or are expected to exit this offseason. Plus: Belichick’s staff is expected to be picked apart again during the offseason, both on the coaching side and in the Patriots front office. Is it possible he opts to walk away before things get ugly?

Who expects the Patriots' staff to be picked apart? I guess some team might try McDaniels again but seems like a big if to me. I could see them re-hiring Patricia. I'm not a Pats fan so I don't know the guy that well, but I wouldn't be surprised if Belichick just prefers coaching to anything else he could be doing (e.g. retirement, commentating, giving speeches).

I have been saying for 10-12 years now that Brady made Belichick looked amazing. People want to always praise Belichick and his system, well guess what Bill's system has him reeling at 2-4 and Brady in his new situation is 5-2 and poised at another playoff run. Belichick struggled as Cleveland head coach before becoming the New England coach, so its not as if he has always been a prominent head coach. Brady has the clutch gene and Bill was simply riding those coattails. Brady is the undisputed GOAT in the entire history of NFL, but there are several coaches I'd put ahead of Bill. Tom Landry, Lombardi, Don Shula and Chuck Noll all rank ahead of Belichick in my opinion, so Bill would be 5th. I think tonight confirms these sentiments from 4 months ago. Brady is a friggin legend, Belichick not so much.

I think Brady slammed the door on this discussion. And there is this:

I think I said this in another thread, but I am man enough to admit when I was wrong. Brady has proven to me this year that he is the real deal. Bill will need to win a SB with a different QB / team to prove it now.
(retracted statement about Reid), I misread something and quoted it wrong. I still like him though.

I think Yahoo forgot that Bill has 8 wins if you include his 2 as DC for the Giants. patriotswire.usatoday.com/2019/06/10/photo-bill-belichick-super-bowl-rings/Andy Reid has 1 super bowl win as a head coach and 1 as a QB coordinator for Green Bay under Mike Holmgren and Brett Favre, theres no way he can be ranked above Bill. Does that mean Joe Gibbs is the greatest coach ever as he won with 3 different QB’s?
