If you are playing with the distance control off, the make sure you are "resetting" the swing distance before your shot.
The game often sets up your shot for you (giving you a pitch shot for seemingly everything is one example), and when it does this it will also often set up a partial swing. The way the game works, is it slows down your backswing to supposedly make the partial swing easier, but if you aren't using it then it will mess up your swing tempo.
Maybe I'm alone here, but I never realized it was doing this even though the devs have explained it. But I just assumed when the distance control was turned off (as it is here) then it wouldn't slow your backswing down.

Think he means..
When you have a pitch of say 60 feet it gives you club for that but the aim marker on green maybe short of hole at say 54 feet as it's set up your partial shot.
Club up then club back down to your 60 foot lob wedge and it moves.
I don't use partials so it's what I do and then use RB for loft adjust.
I think :-)

this is probably different to OP but often i have a shot of say 90-120yds & it preselects a 9 iron pitch & have usually shot before ive realised im starting to learn not just check club its selected but to check if normal shot or not too as cost me a fair few shots that as the pitch at distance ends up way short of green.

This as well. I was also losing a shot or two due to the pitch being auto selected for me (Who hits an 8iron pitch on the tee?). So now I always double check that I'm not setup to pitch, and then make sure I'm at 100% on the club. Like I said, partials slow your swing down and if you are in a groove, then it's going to ruin your swing.
