Which driver is most popular being used? And which Irons are most popular being used? Depends on your skill level. Some clubs have more forgiveness but less distance, some less forgiveness but more distance, some between. If you don't need the forgiveness, then go for distance. Many of us (me included) still like the forgiveness. I think a lot of people seem to sacrifice on the driver though, going for the 295 yard big stick.

I think you’ll be left behind (both literally and figuratively) if you don’t use the 295 and hit fast. The meta seems to be red fasts on approaches too, so I’m assuming they go with all distance there as well...but you don’t need to play like that. I still go for perfects so I have forgiveness clubs, I think all of my irons are just HB clubs. I don’t give a sh%$ about the brands. The driver though....I really think you’re forced to go with the big dog.

Once you get past, say the 8i, so 7i's - 3i's Red Fast deviation becomes an actual thing. Take two 9i shots, one which hits 11:00, and the other 10:00 in the Red. There won't be more than 1.5y of total dispersion, combined. Do that with a 5i, with a club rated in the 180-185 range and you'll see around 3y of deviation. Do that with Bridgestone's and your deviation will be more in the 5y+ of deviation.
Best irons for hitting to a fast are the Purple TMs, Purple Hogans (best if you hit it straight), and the Zero Sum HBs.

Interesting, thanks. I’m probably going to hold out and do the perfects for approaches for a while, but if the time comes where I feel like I have to switch to fasts I’ll keep this info in mind. I just assumed if you’re going for red fast that you’d just go for the longest clubs. Although for the wedges, I think I’ll always go for the short ones...mainly for the splash game where I want shorter yardages.

Wilson 295 driver, irons are Hogan's. Since the phantom update I'm going for perfects and need much more practice but these clubs seem good to me, though I'm not sure how much forgiveness they have.
