Crazy year. I can’t recall anything like it in my 60 years on this planet. Outside of the political stuff which is a discussion for another time and place on the inter webs, what’s everyone’s take on this year so far? Any crazy sht happen?
My family has been steamrolled by all kinds of nutty crap. I don’t even think I could list it all in one try lol.
It’s like some strange force of nature put Pandora’s Box into a sardine can, then stuck us inside, sealed the sardine can and then opened Pandora’s Box.
Hopefully everyone who has had to tough out some hard times with businesses, jobs, finances, health, etc are finding some light and getting their feet back on the ground. But keep the seatbelts buckled, we still have a couple months and........ winter is coming. Keep those positive vibes though, it helps lighten the heavy loads.

This year sucks. Had a huge summer planned - plans to travel cross-country to see family we haven't seen in over two years.
Lost a family member to pancreatic cancer in April (she was 88). My grandmother's sister, but she was like a great-grandmother to my daughter.
But, everyone else in my family circle is healthy, including my mother who survived two bouts with cancer herself.
Hard to focus on much, except for COVID. But hanging in there.

Honestly, other than Covid19 this year has been pretty good for me and my family. Since March, I bought a second house which was in pretty bad shape and have had a renovation team over there renovating it for investment purposes. I have also been able to finally donate alot to Covid relief now that my wife and I's student loan debts are paid off. I also have taught my almost 3 year old son how to golf and my almost 3 year old daughter is dancing and starting to sing a bit.
Some difficulties have been along the way however. Back in late March I thought the company I am employed at was going to shut down in may but fortunately we hussled and grinded hard to get into a position where we are successful again. 2nd my grandfather had tested positive for Covid this summer with moderate symptoms. God bless him in that he recovered quickly without any complications. Thirdly, in early September my uncle and aunt who live in North napa almost lost their house to a fire. Infact they were forced to evacuate for two weeks and the edge of the fire came within three miles of their home. Fortunately that fire is under control now and they have been safely home for almost four weeks now.
I do however hope no one takes this post incorrectly. I know this year has effing sucked for millions and I do not take that lightly hence the donos for covid relief, but I figured honesty and transpiracy is welcomed here. Also, I am hoping that my post here instills a silver lining for you all that despite these challenges of the year you can still hopefully try to seek positives or at the very least examine the challenges encountered and realizing how strong you are to face them head on and not back down.

Tell her she is an inspiration for other cancer patients. Hopefully you can take that cross country road trip next summer. Keep fighting man and you will get through this. Let me know if you need anything. I will pray for you

But keep the seatbelts buckled, we still have a couple months and........ winter is coming. Keep those positive vibes though, it helps lighten the heavy loads. I always get scared when I see you've posted a new thread, especially in off-topic. They haven't tended to be good over the last couple years. Hopefully the next week or two will be providing some of that overdue good news for you. For me 2020 hasn't been all that different. Aside from the shut downs and subsequent new way of doing things my life has been fairly similar. Biggest hardships would be that we haven't been able to visit my wife's family in the US since Christmas. It's been hard on my mother-in-law but fortunately she's been in at least decent health this year and forced herself to figure out Facetime so it could be a lot worse. We did have a Caribbean cruise booked which was actually scheduled to set sail from NYC tomorrow, so the next two weeks is going to suck as I'll be constantly thinking about where I'm supposed to be at that time. That means I'm currently disappointed because I'm supposed to be spending tonight in New Jersey. You know we're in crazy times when someone says they're upset they're NOT in New Jersey. Rebooked a new one for the end of January but not exactly hopeful at this point that it'll happen. We improvised on the fly and took a couple weeks in September to just take our time and drive around Ontario. Benefit of living in a big province as we didn't come close to seeing everything in that time. Northern Ontario is great if you like nature and very sparse population, both of which sounded good based on the current situation. I'll admit that while I always do my best to just roll with things and take them as they come there have been days here and there where I just feel frustrated with everything and wonder why we can't just go back to normal and hope everything works out. Or wish I could just curl up in a ball and live off government handouts until it all just goes away. Fortunately I've never exactly had a full or busy schedule in life, so I still have plenty of time to unwind and relax which always helps me keep my standard mellow temperament. And less than a month until PS5, so there's that to look forward to.

But this one was more for some anecdotal stories like yours from people we know here. Most of us have been a group for years now and we care about each other. The year hasn’t been all doom and gloom but man it’s been..... different. Hopefully you will be able to get on a cruise soon, it exceeds every expectation and it is one of the greatest times you ever had.

You know sht is gone twilight zone when the Cleveland Browns have a better record than the Patriots Finally something went right in 2020 lol. I love it. Outside of the Cardinals 1 and Steelers 2, my third favorite team is the browns. I think NFL fans aside from ones who root for the Bengals, Steelers, and Ravens want the Browns to at least be decent and relevant

Expect them to go get some defense in the off season.
