Seems as if the closer you are to the hole the slower the putting stroke.
Farther away seems like what we had

My counting method for distance in 2019 is 100 per cent working now. They def reverted I’m thinking the same thing.. definitely way closer to 19 than before. My first round after the change was a 59 with 22 putts so you know there had to be changes back to something familiar😂 could they change it again tomorrow who tf knows at this point....

Off topic but Eddie Van Halen gone. Man just seems surreal. Rock is dead.
Sorry didn't know where to put that.

Seems PC and PS4 also affected - so it's not just us. tgctours.proboards.com/thread/25264/phantom-update-slowed-putting-etc?page=1&scrollTo=589754To answer some of the questions whether or not they can make changes without a patch - yes they can - when it is 'server side tweaks' - which is apparently what they did. Remember TGC2019? We had some great tempo for about a month after the game came out and then they did a 'server side tweak' specifically for tempo and us XB'ers were in tempo hell ever since! So - hit the practice ranges and get a feel for the new old mechanic ....FYI.. I also noticed that the swing animation on the driver is also a bit different - the initial takeaway is much slower for a brief moment before the regular fast animation takes over- enough to mess with the timing... hit the range or play a practice round or something to check it out...

Agreed, driver swing has definitely slowed down a bit too for me.

Going to take me a while to go back to the old putting stroke in 2k21,everything seems at half speed now on the greens had to stick the meter on to get some judgement .Interesting as well only had one slow swing of the tee playing on master, most were just on the side of fast hopefully there is now some consistency in the swing i nearly enjoyed a round today for a change but its early days like everything with TGC brand different from day to day.

Remember the Van Halen promo posters at Hastings (remember the old records shop pre-CD) with the newest Van Halen album playing in the background? Those were the days of quality vinyl albums with pristine sounds with stereo. We had a Grundig system picked up in Germany...gold standard back in the day...better than Kenwood.

Played a practice round this morning on my next upcoming round. The putting may be somewhat slowed, but easily adapted to. I also noticed that the overall swing tempo is slower, yet it appears to be the same tempo prior to the first HB update last month(?) I like this as hitting partial power shots are easy, once again. I need to religiously hit most approach shots at 96-95%, if not lower to stay on the greens and not have the ball hit 15 yards near the hole and gallop a further 20 off the backside of the green. Of course all of this is my perception.

Played round 3 of CC-J last night and the tempo of the swing and putting seems to have slowed a bit from what i can tell. The net result was much more playable shots to the green which resulted in more scoring opportunities. There was a period of time from hole 6-10 where the tempo seemed to get lost but i ended up getting it back to a degree down the stretch. I seem to be having more success moving the distance dial back before swinging which is resulting in a few more perfects/grey fasts. This is something i have forgotten to do from time to time but did this religiously last night. I need to work on the short game by doing this however I am not a fan of the swing being a snail pace backswing when reducing the distance. The putting stroke seems to have reverted back to a 2k19 like swing tempo so I think i have gotten used to this after playing a few rounds. Now....when i go to play some additional society rounds today I am sure to report back everything is sh%$ again. This is usually how it works. When you think you have some things figured out and have found some intermediate success, HB taketh away.

Reporting for duty. Top 5 in CC-F after 3 but doubt I hang there.
I'm just glad I got my rounds in before the putting tweak. Looks like we're all going to have to relearn...as if we didn't have enough problems already. But long term, it seems putting will be easier so that's a plus, but we'll see how it shakes out these next few weeks.

Holy sh%$! I was great at putting in 2019. I still couldn't figure out the putting in 21 without the feedback vibration. Well I just loaded up a round after work and the new putting is like the old game. Railing in putts. If I had gotten used to the new putting without the haptic I'd be pissed but I'm actually happy with this. Very strange Hmmm interesting. I am still using the haptic feedback after the change but was a good putter on TGC2019 so maybe I'll try to revert to that. I never did get the hang of putting in this game without the vibration either. Being able to turn it off entirely would be great because it's distracting on full swings.

Well I was quite enjoying the putting without the haptic feedback and now I've completely forgotten how I used to putt in 2019! Having said that, that may not be a bad thing...
I noticed my tempo on approaches was better. I played a society round and shot 9 birdies and an eagle which is way better than any round I've played anywhere. I also putted two 20 foot putts straight off the green...
