Just putting this out there (so that it has to happen right?!)...expansion talks for the main tours - and possible flights on Beer League with promotions/demotions. Would people like that? I think possible flights on the Beer League is a good idea with promotions and demotions, but I wouldn't change any of the settings. I would also like to say that just because we are in the Beer League doesn't make us any less of players than those who are in the other flights. I read too many negative comments about us being in the Beer League and that we just aren't good enough to hang with the other flights. I know my ability as a golfer in this game and I enjoy playing with everyone down there. I just wish that the name Beer League could be changed to say the Pro-am League, that sounds a little more classy. \

I think it would be a great idea to add to the Beer League if possible and I’m sure me included there are lots of people trying to qualify for the tours that know they are not quite good enough yet but trying just because there you have that chance of moving up or down and it makes it more competitive. Understand completely though the work that goes in to make this all possible so if it can’t happen I’m still very happy to be here and appreciate all the work that goes in!

Don't feel folk should feel it's a lesser league really.
My opinion is I like playing pro more than masters in truth.
My reason is that I actually can generally tell if I've played a fast or a slow more on pro settings.
I still play in a couple of very well ran masters club societies and I like the set up in the Tours so opted for that instead of beer league.
But whether I get a card , well who knows cos I'm not a good player. If not I would have no issue playing beer league at all.

I think Promotion/relegation in Beer league would be more fun than not having it, even though I intend to play in TGC main if I can qualify. I am not enamoured with the name 'Beer League', as it makes it sound like a bit of a joke, whereas I think its name should indicate that the league is a properly competitive one. I know it will be that in reality, but the current name just doesn't have that vibe to me. I realize that the name probably won't change, but that is my thought on it anyway.
Edit: Something like Semi-Pro league sounds better, as the TGC main tour would be the Pro League.

Beer League is the US equivalent of Pub League as far as I'm aware? I've played in a few pub leagues (pool mainly, but also skittles and football) and in my experience they are very competitive but also fun. Which is about right isn't it?

Beer League is perfect. Stop complaining or play master. It’s not THAT hard. Beer league gives you practice so you can SOME DAY put your big boys pants on to REAL tournaments.

If that was aimed at me, I wasn't complaining and plan to play master. However, personally I am not a fan of the name Beer league, which is equivalent of a pub league here in the UK, as was pointed out. Pub leagues are fun, and you can can get some good players playing in them, but I am still not keen on Beer league (or pub league) as a name for the competition that is a step down from master level difficulty on the TGC - it just seems to belittle a bit. I don't expect it to change, however, but that doesn't mean I have to be a fan boy of the name, which I am not, obviously.

I think any adjustments to create more level competition is good. It looks like the beer league is already seeing a huge variation in scoring, such that what I would consider the average players well down the leaderboard. What I have learned is despite all the best intentions, it seems impossible to group players consistently with similar skill and relatively tight completion throughout much of the leaderboard. There always seems to be a subset of low scores that deviate significantly from the average scores in the league. The recent beer league cut line looked around +10, with the top scores nearing -15. It can be tough to be motivated to play the last 2 rounds down 20 or more strokes after 36 holes. The median score after the cut is around -1, with the top 50 around -12. The top score is almost 20 shots better than the 10th place score. Very similar to what was occurring in the lower CC tours in 2019.

I am one of the golfers whose scores were horrible for the first Beer League event. I am a novice and do not have the experience that many in the league have at the present time, so I am not ashamed of my scores. I know that it will take me a very long time to reach the level that many members have already achieved. However, I am not deterred. One of the reasons I joined TGCT was to not only learn the game but to also allow myself to grow with the sim. I was drawn to the TGCT from YouTube videos by TGCT members. I am sure others have done so as well.
IMHO, however, I believe that there should be two levels within the Beer League as mentioned in a previous post. It was very much a shock to me to play with the settings that were set up for the tour for my first time when the impression I had was that the Beer League was going to be more casual. I assumed this based on the initial email I received when joining TGCT that spoke to a Beginners League (BCT), which was replaced by the Beer League.
I think a "Light Beer" minor league of sorts would be appropriate for new players. I think that there could be a middle ground related to difficulty level that would keep things competitive, and at the same time, allow for fun. For example, initially turning off the swing timing, but activating it at various event stages is something that seems fair. Say for the first event, swing timing is off, then for the second event maybe swing timing is turned on for one or two rounds. My point is that selectively turning on the swing timing for the minor league could be a good way for new folks to learn the nuances of the game including their swing mechanics. I think the scores would also show if someone within this light league were sandbagging their skills. Then they could be sent up to the Major League based on their average rounds scores. I don’t know how much work this would put on the TGCT staff, however.
Anyway, enough rambling. Keep up the good work with the league.

More aimed at breaking it up into smaller tours which is the opposite of what they want. I feel “beer League” is a concession for us inbetweeners Pro am is too easy and Master is to hard

I don't have much of a dog in this fight since I don't play on tours but I can definitely get behind multiple divisions for the Beer League just for the sole purpose of getting to name them
