I’m using the slow pull back for putting as I really can’t react so quick to trying to do it like on TGC 2019 but does anyone have any tips for keeping the putt straight as just recently I’m going from out to in and pushing all my putts? Any help would be much appreciated.

Index and ring finger either side of the stick and middle finger moves it. I hit very straight this way. I use it for all shots not just putting.

I find moving stick with slight bias to one direction depending which way you push putts can straighten putts. Also moving stick faster I find more likely to be straight but at risk of more possibly overhitting as have to have a more snappy quicker putt.

Yes I was trying that as my stick is quite loose and just tried an older controller which is a bit stiffer and it become a little better so thanks for your help!

Give it a try, it will feel alien at first but with it hitting straight is very easy.

I use a version of the cradle grip as outlined in this video:
It worked well for me when I first tried it and I have stuck with it ever since.

No need to putt. Approach to the side just off the green closest to the pin and go for the easy chip in. Short chips have become ice cream & cake again like in TGC 1. #PlayForChips .

Bit of an update. I was having terrible trouble keeping putts straight on the swing plane and I had always been a thumb and index finger guy for all shots and putting in TGC2019 but this new game has changed so many things for me. I recently changed to thumb only for all shots apart from putting and although there is still a lot of room for improvement but I have a lot more feel for getting the tempo right this way. I tried it also for putting but it did not feel comfortable and stuck with the thumb and index finger but no amount of practise would improve the swing plane issue. So finally the update part 😄 I just spent two hours on the putting green using thumb only and think (only think so far) I might of cracked it! I was getting 80% of my putts straight as a die which had never happened before so will continue more practise with this and then finish up my last two qualifying rounds to try as much as possible to cling on for dear life for the last tour.

Thumb only for me. Struggled originally but went to putting green and just knocked ball about 10 feet or so and watched white line and my thumb action.
Was bringing it, which i thought was straight , just before 6 and out to just before 12 on clock face.
Now with practice that rarely happens and only if i do not concentrate.
I also take 3 practice swings to get rythm.

Any help would be much appreciated. I use this method. I apply a little pressure on the stick and push down from the top just enough to start the backswing and then pull straight up once at the desired distance. It works well for me and more times than not I get a dead straight swing plane.

I do a similar thing to the above, which is the same technique I use with all shots, the only difference with putting is I make the backswing movement slower. Sometimes I encounter problems with trailing it off to the right at the end of the downswing but not often.

Anybody ever get the thumb yips? I’m not having backswing issues it is moving the stick forward.
I’m still in my first month of playing any golf game and I was fine with most putts and recently I’ve started to jam the stick ever slightly left on every putt and a pull or a very crummy short putt will be the result.
I have finally changed my grip and angle of my controller to get most fairways and greens on 2 now but the putts are now wiping out my first 2 shots now. And bogey and doubles are some of the results. I may start putting on how i hold the cod troller with My drive and the use of irons because those shots have become really straight now. I can finally put it in an area of the green for the most part. What sucked was I was finally getting a good feel with my backswing on putts and then the thumb has that stupid muscle memory and jams it at 10-11 o’clock.
