Hi guys I came into this new game a bit late (enjoyed a break though) After doing some practice I noticed loft doesn't make any difference? How do people adjust distance with this new game when you're in between clubs?

Also when playing without wind? A normal. 9 iron gave the same distance as a fully lofted 9 iron for me..

Not a huge difference, but a few yards. For instance, a 4i with no change to loft carries 186 (I use the Taylor Made Sim Max OS) but with loft halfway down (bottom of the center grayed area), it carries 180. For a PW it is 128 vs 121. I did my testing on a hole I made that was perfectly flat with no wind.

It’s trivial at best, you used to be able to take 20% off a wedge last year, no more. You have to practice hitting 90% or less for in between, which is actually not that hard when you get the hang of it

I figured full loft took on average around 10 yards off irons and around 4 yards off wedges. Is that way off? I normally hit between 101% and 103% power, if that makes a difference.

You have to practice hitting 90% or less for in between, which is actually not that hard when you get the hang of it Shot Shaping in 2K21 is far superior to that of 2019. Regarding partials, they are a bad shot imo and should be avoided like the plague. The preferred shot should be 101% or 96% overswings. Why 101s over lower %s? Because 101% has a much larger range, a range which is at least 4-5x easier to hit than 100,99, 98, etc. In other words, you could hit 10 different Avatar positions and still get 101%, however, there might only be 1-3 Avatar positions for those on the lower scale. And the 96% overswing is always 96%.
Here's a few shot shaping videos with comments in the description:

Here is a chart showing the Bridgestone 58° LW Under Normal you see the length of shot and rollout. Under Full Loft you see length of shot, rollout and spin back. One thing you have to realize is that with overswing, these distances are very much an average of 102%. So add 2% points to each % you see. 100 = 102, 95 = 97, etc. This was on a flat green, from fairway, with zero wind. I hope to chart all of my clubs and try to do same from rough and heavy rough. Normal Full Loft | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
|
| | 100% | 95% | 90% | 85% | 80% | 75% | 70% | 65% |
| 100% | 95% | 90% | 85% | 80% | 75% | 70% | 65% | | 103/105 | 102/104 | 99/101 | 96/99 | 94/96 | 91/94 | 88/91 | 85/88 |
| 95/97/94 | 93/95/93 | 92/93/92 | 90/91/90 | 88/89/88 | 85/87/86 | 83/85/84 | 80/82/81 |
|
If you pitch using the LW then you get a range from 70/74 at 100% down to 11/18 at 60% with no loft. If you pitch with a full loft, you get from 67/69 at 100% down to 11/16 at 60%

Is there any driving ranges posted without wind where we can get yardages? It seems the wind is always blowing on the practice range. (Or can that be pre-set?)
