Based on the scores, I don’t think mayday_golf83 and I will be getting as much hate mail as I thought. People shooting 56s on this course pretty much proves that it’s not unfair in any way if you’re making the right choices, and the field average seems to be lower at this point too. For those unaware, the design of this course is an homage to template holes, so you will see designs out there a little different than most (hole 8 anyone?). Just keep that in mind when you get mad and call it an awful design, because you might as well do your research and point the finger toward someone else. 😉 Good luck out there! I’ll be playing my rounds live on Twitch tomorrow (Monday) around 4pm ET if you want to laugh at the struggles of the co-designer. twitch.tv/VctryLnSprts Now the choice of the ditch on 8 makes sense, completely. If the whole idea for the course was to pay homage to template holes(of which I no nothing, to be certain). Thank you for clarifying. And by all means I wasn't mad about #8, it just sticks out more when I compare it to the other greens on the course. I found the ditch and made par, but I have also found the ditch and not made par.

After going +10 at Whiskey, I figured I was still in with a chance of a card if I played sensibly at the next course. So what happened on the first hole? A lovely quintuple-bogey 9 after a slice into the water, and then making a mess of my subsequent approaches. That said, I was quite pleased to go the rest of the round at level par ie. +5 overall! More worryingly though, unlike the first course, at Evangelist I'd completely lost any control over which way my ball was going from one shot to the next, so finishing +5 was like winning the lottery. However, you can only put off the inevitable for so long and proceeded to absolutely tank, shooting my last two rounds in the 80s, something I'm not sure I've done since Q-school at Copper Creek back on TGC1! And the worst thing of all? I'm playing on PS4, so can only imagine how bad I'd be shooting on some of the 'less friendly' consoles! Hey, it's only a game though, right? Regardless, it's still fun reading this thread and everyone's experiences even if I fear I've brought it down a level or two in terms of scoring. Ah well, back to the practice area for me as I start the perpetual Q-School purgatory...

You can show my all the real world examples you like, I know it is used on many courses, but still doesn't mean I like it, or that I feel it fit this course. Just looks out of place that's all. Guess we'll just agree to disagree. Certainly entitled to your opinion. Just like every other course on every other week that is played around here, it won’t suit everyone. It’s simply impossible. Too true! Just hoping to par that thing every round and move on..... well I think I can say that for just about every hole, just get par and move on! :-)

What happened to the tgctours tv programmes that streamed a while back? I used to really enjoy watching them and would have been great to watch this week.

Well I was -11 after whiskey dunes, felt ok about it. Played first two rounds of second week and was sitting at -20 overall.. Feeling good First tee shot of third round goes in water and now I'm stuck with the dreaded water drop freeze. All that hard work might be for nothing. I can't believe this

So on 17th I over shot the green and went in the water. They made me drop the ball on a fairway that was BEHIND the crowd and stands. I had to shoot 180 yards from a different fairway OVER the building. Luckily I landed on the grass and chipped and putted for a double bogey.
But what the hell was with that drop zone? I saved a clip so if I can be bothered I can upload later.

Well sitting at +34 before Evangelist and just had one practise round before I start and no matter how many new tours I don’t think there are enough letters in the alphabet 😄 Oh lord this game is proving so tough and I’ve changed controllers, changed thumb grip and I’m sure when I start my round will need to change my pants 😂 Jeeeez what has this game done to me! Good luck all and respect for the good scores so far.

Koop - no worries man, my post wasn't in reference to your comments, I've had many other people in streams and other places say that hole 8 is really stupid, but it's possible that of the thousands of people playing the course, many of them aren't familiar with template holes, so it's understandable for sure. If I'm being quite honest, I do not like hole 8 either even though I designed that hole on Evangelist, but that's why I mentioned that I am not the inventor of the Biarritz concept, I am just the interpreter. But I take no offense to people not liking that hole, because I myself do not really care for the Biarritz holes. LOL

Are you aware that if you don't like where the suggested drop is that you can hit the bumper on the controller to select the previous shot location instead? Sometimes that is your best option by far.

Feeling good First tee shot of third round goes in water and now I'm stuck with the dreaded water drop freeze. All that hard work might be for nothing. I can't believe this I am concerned that this bug in the game will cost a lot of people, and that is VERY unfortunate and not really fair to be honest. This is not a problem with this particular course, it can happen on any course, but basically what it is is the game allows a drop on the inside edge of the penalty area where it shows you can drop, but then if you do, it's basically immediately right back in the water and you're screwed. At that point, you can't even declare an unplayable because the previous spot is the SAME spot. My best advice (although too late for this gentleman) is to NEVER trust a drop option from the game if it is a tiny little area of clear right before the water's edge. This will happen more times than not.
