Haha I'm 45th and a lock for masters. No one from top 50 has ever dropped 25 places in a week that I have seen let alone 40. When I missed cuts I drop like 10 places or so. Top 70 are locks imo

Gonna be tight. Will make the cut on PGA this week at -12 but am yet to start rounds 2&3. Thinking I'll need a top 40 finish to hold or slightly rise up from my #88 WGR. Will be more than happy to replicate my first 2 rounds but who knows. Need a good rd 3 to take pressure off last rd. Had a T25 finish last week and thought I would have jumped up more than 9 places (figured I was gonna be around 80th... Was in same race for the WGC event and just squeaked in there. Time will tell no doubt. Don't give myself a chance of reaching the Match Play and think that will be interesting to see unfold. Good players are bound to miss out there.

I propose instead of taking the top 90, we take (checks stats) the top 144 ranked guys in the WGR. (number subject to change)
This is a nice round number that is perfect for competition.

I would have just as much of a chance to make it this way

Seems a little harsh that someone ranked top 100 and playing on one of the top two tours could be left out and yet players from the lower tours will be given a spot.

I'm all in favor of virtual tradition. After looking at the money list's I'm wondering if it will be top three tour active players or will the invite go to players that have money lead but have moved on to other tours? And the fact that the masters has a tradition doesn't change my statement that some of the players that will miss out have played most if not every week and could miss out to someone that might have only played a week or two. That would be harsh. Good wiki...

I wish I had been participating on the European Tour from the start. Now I didn't have enough time to move up in the WGR to make it into the players field for The Masters.
Oh well... life is not all guns and roses.
Anyway, good luck to all that will make the trip to Augusta!

Happens in real life with Amateurs.. Technically, Web.com (both in real life and TGCT) aren't amateurs. They are more like AAA baseball pros waiting for their opportunity, but still pros. Really, really, technically, TGCT web and champions aren't amateurs as there is prize money awarded. But, I get your point. Just stirring the pot and killing time as I wait for my cab to take me to the airport for my golf buddy trip!

I think it gives the lower tours added enthusiasm to have a chance for a masters appearance. But now that we have flights, at least starting with next years majors maybe 3 from all of web and 3 from all of champ is more appropriate? The money is the same, the tournaments are the same..
