Well - from the results of several test versions ... I have finally stumbled upon a "host of changes" that makes me feel like I just might pull this off ...
It may not be the "Real" course - but it sure gives a good impression of it ... at least 50% of it ...
LOL

All this did was make me a ton more work ... even to the point of redoing my greens .... YIKES! And what does this do - well for the few that played my lastest test course ... It means the greens just got smaller and tougher still ... thanks to my latest "Discovery" ... don't blame me ... I just want it to be as close to Accurate as I can get it ... Trivia note: the winner of the 2012 US OPEN was +1 after 4 rounds ... (one really good TGC player managed to finish my last test course -1 for 18) Still lotsa work ... bunkers to add teeth too, Tee boxes to add and level, trees to move/or get rid of, and now... GREENS to redo ... like about 14 or 15 of them ... Meaning this course @ over 140 hours ... just has at least another 100 to go ...

Haha - going to be lots of "unrealistic" complaints with all those pins three grids from the edge on a slope....
Good to hear the greens are shrinking!

Haha - going to be lots of "unrealistic" complaints with all those pins three grids from the edge on a slope.... Good to hear the greens are shrinking! I already hear some complaining about the "Lack of short rough" ... the deep rough is short rough "US OPEN" style I don't have many choices on what rough to use where and keep it real ... istic ... LOL What was the size of the green grids in-game ? about 3x3 feet squares ... And man, I have to deal with Number 7 two tiered green ... LOL ... going to be rated about a 3 or 5 out of 10 .. LOL But, I do see a members version with light rough around the fairways ...

The above link is a comparison between the older first hole layout, to the more accurate green size and (Thursday) pin location for rd.1 for the first hole. I think you will notice a difference ...

I've decided to pull this course out of the contest. I haven't the time to spend on it and make it like I want. I'm am still working on it. Just not enough interest in it for me to bust my rear and spending another 100 plus hours rushing to a deadline that 3 people might be interested in.

Dawg. Remember the 10 are so on the judging panel are not looking at any of the courses on purpose. I would definitely finish.

You have spent too much effort and showed too much to back down on this one. Get your act together and get it done. Real courses are a grind - but it will be worth it at the end.

I'm going to finish it, I don't know if I have the time before deadline. .. I have too much invested to just turn out a subpar course. .. pun intended

still working on it, flipped theme to Highland ... but as luck would have it my ocean is 90 degrees out of phase ... and I cannot rotate the backdrop. I will not remake this course, way too much time invested. Why didn't HB allow for rotating the backdrop?
