The name has changed to protect me from the real course. I do not wish it to be confused with the real "Olympic Club" course, but is does share a resemblance to the layout in a lot of ways. Hopefully it will play something close to the real one as well. If it does, It could be a real treat, or a nightmare ...

Hey DDawg,
I've been anxiously awaiting your entry. Can't tell much from the pics yet, but if your going for the "Olympic Club" as a model I'm sure it will be great. Can't wait for more and of course testing and final. I'll check to see if you have a tester out there and give it a whirl. If you haven't put one out there let me know when you do.
Good Luck and most of my money is riding on you so don't *F* it up like I did.

OK. .. the first 3rd of the course has their fairways, greens and bunkers in place. most of the shaping has been started and trees planted.

Looks a tiny bit flat maybe - especially around the greens but that could be how the game shows it. Also most tees could be raised a little bit to give a bit better look at the hole. Feel a bit "blind" on the front 9 compared to how I remember the course.
Also 7 has a 2-3 feet high tier that creates the risk/reward of hitting driver and does double duty as a back stop for pitches to the front of the green. If pin is in front and you hit it long there is almost no way of stopping the ball.

Yeah, I'm not done yet. .. but, some things just will not be exactly like the course IRL. The only thing that will be as close to real is the layout and the distance. .. every thing else will be compromised due to GNCD and Game limitations ... and the amount of time I really want to put into the course. .. over 80 and closer to 90. .. I anticipate 200 hour range. .. terrain shaping from a flat surface is tough when the GNCD doesn't help much. .. every thing is guess work and trial and error.
For this reason, I am not making the Olympic Club. It's the Olympian Club. .. lol

14 holes down, 4 more to lay fairway to go ... then tree planting, terrain/greens/bunker shaping, beautification, testing ... and hopefully done before I pull all hair out and beat the Deadline ...  |

18 holes have finally been laid out. I'm happy with the routing. Bunkers and greens are not going to change much except for shaping them up to my liking...
Terrain. .. that is where all the fun starts, and ends... it's always been the alpha, and omega in my latest designs.... that's the crux of the biscuit
