Hello everyone! My name is doctordoof, aka Pierre Donaldson, and this is my WIP thread for my rookie design contest course.
Let’s get the basics out of the way before we get to the course.
First things first, yes Pierre is an alias. I use it as my coach name in most sports dynasties I play. IRL I work in the medical field so it is important to me to keep my real name out of online forums.
Second, I am a rookie in every form of the word. I got TGC 2019 earlier this year on sale and spent some time playing it. I only started messing with the course designer a few weeks ago after I pre-ordered 2k21. In the new game, I have spent a little bit of time working with some of the tools and seeing how they work and designing a hole here or there on a test plot of land. This means that I have never finished a course yet alone published one and submitted it for any kind of approval on the forums here.
I spent some time reading through the entirety of the rookie design contest thread from last year, the WIP threads for it, and all roughly 95 pages of the courses not approved thread. I wanted to get an idea for what was accepted and what was not accepted. I played on a few of the user created courses that were approved to get a feel for how everything comes together in the end.
I, like many on here is my guess, was a big fan of Sim Golf way back in the day. I even have an old PC that runs Windows 7 still that I plug in once in a while just to play the game. Though admittedly that hasn’t happened for about 4 years now. When I learned more about the TGC course designer and saw some videos on it, I knew I had to create courses on it and then 2k21.
