I am very new to this and haven't a clue what I'm doing. So, I would like to spline an OSM golf course (I've got some LiDAR files but cannot open them because they are ASC files) so doing it this way is my best option. Would I be correct in thinking in order to spline OSM maps would I need Chads Tool (i've got this, version 0.3.2(1)).
Do I need to use Chads Tool before or after splining. If after, I need to convert an .osm file to a .course file, how is this done? If before, would I need to convert the .osm file to a .course file to spline it, and again, how is this conversion done?
If no conversions are necessary then I'm completely lost because I cannot find any way to spline a .osm file

Yes, you will need Chad's tool to get the OSM data into the game. Add all of your splines in OpenStreetMap, and then use the steps below to import them as a flat course file:
1. Click the Export tab in OSM and select the area that you want to export, which will create a .osm file. 2. In Chad's tool, open the Import Terrain and Features tab, then click the Make Flat Course From OSM File button near the bottom to select your .osm file. 3. After the process is complete, go back to the 1st tab (Course Tools) to preview what is being imported in your course file, and then click the Export .course button.
