I notice 2K21 does not offer a punch shot. Any ideas on how to hit one? I find myself in need of this shot often from the woods.

hold the left button so the true shot thing comes up, then push both sticks all the way to the top. one of them makes the trajectory what you want, and the other one puts a forward spin on it, so it will roll further.

@oldsouled You're not missing anything. The punch shot is non-existent. HB claims that moving the left and right stick up creates a punch shot, but in this game, it's not even close to resembling the punch shot of the last game. It's virtually useless if you want to "punch" out from under something or keep the ball really low, like into a strong headwind.

Use the Driver and then move the marker as low as it goes (with % on it's usually 80-85%) which "slows down the swing" making it easier to hit partials (but shifts tempo to a fast, so aim right), add max top spin and forward angle, and then take a few practice swings to try and hit in the 65-75% range. Then hit it that range! 65% carries around 118-120 and rolls out to 160, while 70% carries around 137 and rolls out just beyond 180.
You can do the same with any 3w,4w, or 5w too. I imagine they'd actually work better than the Driver. I just haven't mapped them out yet.

Nothing resembling a punch shot.

I dunno ... it's acheivable with the controls available, but having it dialed in was nice. I'm successful maybe half the time now, but I'm in the trees a lot, so plenty of practice at it.
