As I did in the transition into tgc19, and in line with many other designers, just going to keep this single post/thread updated as I slowly bring my designs into the new game. Will just list them here with links to original publish threads as I bring each course over, in no particular order at this point. May make some minor tweaks (probably just to greens/pins to ease putting difficulty) here-or-there, which I'll try to remember to note with each listed course here.
Note: Images shown below are from the original publish threads, not one's taken in 2k, so appearances may vary depending on the course and/or the amount of updating/changes I've made to each before publishing in 2k - just wanted to give a small visual representation of each course for your reference.
2. The Buck Club - some softened pins, slightly softer green firmness but still firm (went from .98 to .85 I believe), some environmental/lighting tweaks but nothing significantly different, plus a few more auto-gen trees.
3. Volunteer Municipal G.C. - significant updates, should be a gentle introduction into the new game (hopefully)
4. Greens @ Clearwater Cay - not for the lighthearted, going to be a tough challenge I believe, so go into it knowing that. I did a great deal of work on easing up greens/pins, but still should be tougher than your average bear.
5. Chicago Golf Club - while still not "perfect" since this is a TGC2 original, I spent significant time cleaning her up and getting her ready for the new game. New textures, slightly adjusted lighting, re-planted every bit of grass (though I'm not sure it makes much of a difference), touched every green to some extent for playability and [attempted] "true" green reading (still have had a few that didn't break when green bead said they would and vise-versa), and moved/adjusted many pins to enhance playability/enjoyment and mix things up a bit from where they've been in the past 2 games. This course is my baby, spent a ridiculous amount of time on it (as can be seen in this now-ancient WIP thread), so I sincerely hope you enjoy this golden age gem of a course.
6. Windy City National - the "alternate timeline" version of Chicago Golf Club, meaning a re-imagination of CGC's exact layout in a different style. Updated textures and modified a few greens/pins for playability, tweaked lighting/weather effects a bit, and bumped green speeds and firmness down a touch, too. Think this one looks really nice with the new textures, but suppose I could be biased on that...
7. The Matchbox - collab with gamesdecent and Crazycanuck1985 . Touched every green some extent, moved a few pins slightly, added a tiny bit of planting and a few areas of additional background/off-course sculpting, new textures, minor lighting/haze tweak, marginally slower greens (but not by much, this one is still very challenging, you've been warned).
8. The Patriot - This was my submission for the Major Contest a couple years back (I think it's been 2 years? Maybe just 1), so with it being US Open week and all, seemed like a fitting time to get this one into 2K. She's a toughie, especially in this game with the narrow fairways, but hopefully you will get that strong old-school, US Open setup vibe that I was going for. Updates include new textures, lighting/weather tweak, touched every green, moved a couple of pins, etc., - the usual things that I've done to most/all of the courses listed here.
9. Pauston Municipal Golf Links - A remake of one of my early contest courses. Very links-styled course (or at least, that's the idea) with slopey, slower greens. Moved a few pins, fiddled with textures and lighting/weather, softened a few green slopes, but mostly it's the same as it was in '19.
10. River Islands - Realized the other day that I hadn't even brought this one into the 2k designer, and it actually ported over as well as any of these. I slowed the greens down a tad and softened some slopes, adjusted a few pins, slightly lessened fog density, but it's mostly as it was in '19. Tough greens, but fun IMO, a loose recreation of River Islands (now named Island Point) in Kodak, TN.
11. Gale Harbor - Collab with Crazycanuck1985 that I've touched up a decent bit for 2k playability. Generally, fairways/landing areas are wider, a bit of softening on a couple of pins, greens are slightly less firm, and a couple of holes will look a good bit different (re: widening fairways, mostly).
