was thinking of trying to use lidar data for my next course design but after looking around (without not really knowing what im looking for)
i think i have come to the conclusion that there arent any usable data available (for free).
found 2 hightmaps geodata hightmap 50m grid (think this is free, but assuming its not detailed enough to be usable)
geodata hightmap 2m grid (seems to be the most detail available, but unknown cost to order)
but since i know there are a few swedish designers here i thought id just quickly check if anyone tried it yet?
anyone tried/found swedish lidar data?

Thanks for the answer! yea, that is where i was looking. but from my understanding the only available detail level (for free) was 1 data point per 50m, and i assume that would not be any benefit unless going for a mario golf looking plot what kind of detail level is generally needed?

Hi, You can find the guide at this web page: www.lantmateriet.se/sv/Kartor-och-geografisk-information/oppna-data/sa-hittar-du-och-hamtar-laserdata/This will help you to allocate the index of the Lidar files which then will be downloaded in their ftp-server: download-opendata.lantmateriet.se/Note: You need to create an account to access the ftp page. Choose "Laserdata_Skog". Now you will find a cluster of files. Check at this site the tag for the scanning data: webgisportal.lantmateriet.se/portal/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=36d1e8bd49694da289e2ec7f774f531cThe scanning quality of is 0,5-1 points/sqm which I pressume should be sufficient. Note that all scans are divided by 2,5km squares. There might be so that it needs to be tiled together, which hopefully works in Chads-program. One should say I have never done a TGC Course design and just started to research if my homecourse could be done. I have mapped my course in OSM and got the Lidar files needed. I´m considering changing from E6 Connect simulator to TGC19 sim purely due to this friendly course design community and possibilities for more courses. If anyone see´s this post and are willing to assist me to see if I got my work so far right before taking the step to TGC, please don´t hesitate to PM me. Good luck!
