Definitely not enjoying playing with these conditions. Took the fun right out of it for me. Especially for a non major tournament. Hope you can get use to it. This is the standard of course and challenge we want on the big boy tours!

Great stuff Scott. I have not tried it yet, but I do recall thinking when I played Bison run that it would be better with firmer conditions, and this designer would be more than up to the task of jacking that course up. Because it does take more than just taking the current course and jacking the sliders.
Edit: Well that was fun, high wind it was a beast, welcome me back to the pack.
If I could be so bold as to offer some advice to designers of fast and firm courses.
1. You want us to stay on the green and not just bounce through them, we can chip, pitch and flop pretty good and there is a big big difference between a 15 yard pitch and a 45 foot putt. 2.You don't need the monster yardage anymore, it's harder to par a 420 yard par 4 where the ball stays on the green then a 480 yard par 4, see #1 3. Make those fairways easy to hit, it makes the green accessible in regulation, otherwise we can chip, pitch and flop pretty good and save an easy par, see #1. 4. Your looking for mid iron approaches, not long iron or wedge approaches, mid iron approaches will stop on the green, where is anybody's guess though, wedge approaches still stop dead albeit a little further away so feel free, but long iron and wood approaches just fly through the green and see #1.
Just my 2 cents, by the way rated a 10 on day 1, nice work reeb, great job, makes the course far far more fun. Very good taste. You are right on.

I'm crossing over this week because Bison Run takes forever to load up on my ps4 (sometimes it freezes everything up) tried one of the new version today, took forever to load. So euro tour, here I come this week. Lol Plus I'm a big fan of Lengua Del Diablo. As far as firm conditions go. I don't care for them but will have no problem playing them. Even though scores will come down, I believe harder conditions just favors the better players even more.

I think Bison Run as it is now is MORE difficult than Magnolia. On Magnolia you have one hole, #4 Par 3 where it is almost impossible to get it close to a pin without hitting the rough /fairway before the green. Aside from that, even the longer shots are manageable and the ball will actually check when it is supposed to. The slopes makes it difficult but over all it is a fair course. I found Bison not to reward well hit shots. Lofting shots doesn't seem to matter as an 8 iron 130 went the same distance past the hole (28 feet) as a 5 iron 3 grids up, with both hitting at 129-130ish. The only way to get it close on a few of the par 3s and some of the par 4s is hitting the fairway before the hole since most are elevated and it will take some speed off. Unfortunately doing this you have no idea which way it will bounce. All that being said, it will be a much more difficult course than last week for sure. I wish everyone luck who is brave enough to play it. AFter a few rounds I find the course unfortunately unfair on many holes per round. I don't mind difficult and challenging courses. I don't even mind holes that really par should be considered an awesome score, but there are just too many holes that regardless of the great shot you play, you aren't getting rewarded unless you play short of the green or get lucky. Just how I feel *NOTE* these opinions are my own and do not reflect TGC or any other players.

Definitely not enjoying playing with these conditions. Took the fun right out of it for me. Especially for a non major tournament. Jump over to the Euro tournament Can't afford the air fare. I gave it another go and shot even par on round 1 with winds 12-16, with one in the water. Pretty satisfying, (not the one in the water, the even par in those winds). I did shoot a -5 on round 1 earlier. Just finished round 2 and shot a -6 and left at least two or three shots out there. I guess the original shock is wearing off. I should've kept my mouth shut before i gave the course a fair shot. It does take some shot making skills to give yourself a chance at birdie. And if you make the birdie, it is pretty rewarding. Putting on these greens takes some getting used to also. Have to play a lot more break. And if you try and ram it in the back of the cup, and miss, you will pay for it. Anyway, sorry for the downer post earlier.

This is the standard of course and challenge we want on the big boy tours! Yeah, I realize that. I was grumpy earlier. I gave it another shot and it's starting to grow on me. (see earlier post) I originally thought my -5 and -6 scores would leave me in everyone's dust. Looking at the scores so far, I'm holding my own. It definitely will be hard to shoot four really good rounds in a row.

Can't remember what I shot last night (thinking -4/-5) but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt the original Bisons greens were to timid in speed and firmness and overall contouring for the courses tough to place fairways and challenging approach shots. Most 20fters were not much of a challenge with fair slopes on greens and good scores were made..... Now Reebdoog what a transformation and the whole course just feels in unison now. I love it. A real challenge now and the slopes on the green now with the upped speeds play totally different and the aiming now is practically double and more sometimes which is a great result. Think the cut might be around -10 to -12. Depending on winds could be single figures so will be a great test and think the winning score might be around -40 to -44 which will be no easy feat too. Well done. Tee shot on 2 is only query as I had an 8mph headwind and only made fairway by 5yds at a guess. Looking forward to it. A made cut and I hope to lock up a spot in the masters. No pressure on me. Haha

one other thing. This is not as firm as it gets. I did NOT take the firmness all the way up...just most of the way. Played all four in sequence to about -19 I think. There are birdies to be had but double bogeys too if you aren't planful in your approach shots. Shaping shots is a must but often not necessary if you put your tee shots in the right place. Highlight was a 9 under on day 3

I will give the course this, it makes you be creative. I was in a bunker and had a tree directly over me so I couldn't flop. Had to play a 1/3 chip shot which barely cleared the lip. Left me 7 feet but wow not used to not being able to flop out of a green side bunker.

Think you might alienate some players here... It appears I am not the only one who cant get this course to load on PS4. I'm using Fibreoptic broadband at a decent speed before anyone blames my connection....

Just turned game off and on again and still nothing. As soon as I click on Bison Run TGCTours 1 it never manages to load.
Anyone else on PS4 having this issue? If its not just me then I guess we will have to look as solutions! Change the course wont be popular, but if 1/3 cant access it....

Finally loaded after about 4 minutes of waiting. wtf.... How much RAM you got? It gets loaded into RAM so if it isn't your connection, it could be RAM/CPU usage. No issues with any other courses like Magnolia?
