Just played this one. Had some thoughts about how it does evoke strong feelings of the sandbelt throughout.
- Firm and fast conditions baby!
- The long grasses around the bunkers very suited to the region.
- Bunker shaping was bang on and crisp edges were mint.
- The contrasting tone of the fringe grass is straight out of Royal Melbourne.
- Minor but impactful changes in elevation are very accurate.
Couple of things that weren’t quite 100% suited to my eye.
- Fairways were extremely narrow in places. Makes sense for a video game where it’s so easy to drive the ball, but not a great reflection of the open spaces on the sandbelt.
- Felt a little over bunkered in places with maybe too much sandy waste as well.
- A couple of greens were almost impossible to keep a downhill putt on the green of missing the front pin.
I need a tutorial on:
- Crisp, roughless, bunker edges. They look superb.
- How to create the fringe areas with the terrain grid on them.
Overall I loved it and will definitely play again.
