"Mauna Kea GC" has been ported to PGA 2K21Here is some information about the course: One of the most popular golf courses in Hawaii, Mauna Kea offers superb views of the beautiful Kohala Coast. Since it opened in 1964, this course has set the standards in terms of beauty and design excellence, cementing its place as one of the most scenery-filled and favorite courses in Hawaii’s golfing history. Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior from a topography of barren lava rock, and later updated by his son Rees Jones, this award-winning 18-hole, par-72 course has played host to some of the greatest names in the game. The elevated greens and prevailing trade winds put a premium on approach shots if they are to land accurately on the greens. There are many memorable holes at Mauna Kea. The par-3 third hole is the signature hole and is located, like the eleventh, at sea level. On Dec. 8, 1964, the "Big Three" of golf -- Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player -- christened the Mauna Kea Golf Course, by playing here for a televised match. This date marked the official first day of play on this challenging course. If you are a better player and want a more realistic challenge try these settings: For Trade Winds play with High to Very High winds with Northeast direction. For Kona Winds play with Rain and High to Very High winds with Southwest direction. Real Course Flyover

Absolute belter this.
Reminds me of one of the popular (fictional) tropical courses but- as people who know me are aware, I massively favour real courses- with far less clutter.
Really clean lines, good colour choices, loved the simple use of trees, solid hole strategy.
Really enjoyable round of golf here 👍

Course is fantastic, really tough, the par 3’s are great! A course I definitely want to try from the shorter tee’s just to see the difference. A long but very fun course from the back tee’s. 👍
Have no idea how it can be done so well (course designer), loved the little touches - houses, cars, carts etc, Actual course was great, no easy holes at all

Usually both!

Seeing this new rendition of Mauna Kea Resort & GC took me back to my Links days when it was one of my favourite courses to play. So very keen to play it on TGC2019 and I must say it didn't disappoint, very challenging layout, especially with the winds up. It is a fascinating course to me with the par 3 & 5 holes playing extremely long, whilst the par 4's are quite short but with the elevation changes still a challenge. The cherry on the cake here though is how well Wade has designed and presented this course and makes it a very enjoyable experience and a great challenge. Excellent addition to the real courses available to play.

Gave it a playthrough tonight.. most of the holes are definitely recognizable right of the bat but a lot of your elevation changes are a little off, in most cases it's a lot more severe in real life. A few of the dog legs were at the wrong spot and a lot of the slopes lining the greens and fairways were kinda off too.. but all in all for never seeing the course in real life u did a pretty good job recreating it, definitely enjoyed my playthrough. 4 stars from me..

Thanks so much for your great feedback. That means a lot from someone that plays this course regularly. I'm also very happy you enjoyed playing it. Yeah it's hard to see the elevations on a flyover with a wide angle lens and get the course perfect. And Google earth is close but it depends what spot you measure from. This would definitely have been a great course for LIDAR, but they didn't have Lidar Point Cloud to use with Chad's Tool. This is a great course for 2k to add sometime.

The lidar data from Hawaii that is not patchy - is unfortunately of very bad quality (Waialae for example) - so until they come with new data, there is no use in trying to do a lidar recreation on courses from Hawaii.

Yeah lidar data here does suck, they have decent data right on the coast line but that's about it. Hokulia is the only course on my island that has a lidar version in a golf simulator but the data isn't public.. one day when I have time I'll play it again and take notes for each hole and send it to ya..
