Jagged Wrath Golf Club is my official entry into the 2020 CC Contest.
Please play JAGGED WRATH GOLF CLUB instead of Jagged Wrath. Unfortunately the course was originally published with an incorrect par on hole 17.
Jagged Wrath Golf Club is a mature golf course set on a rustic island with predominantly rocky, coastal terrain. The course gets its name from the many jagged areas of terrain throughout the area.
Just over a dozen homes are on the island. The residents are outnumbered by diehard golfers that travel by plane to experience the coastal golf offered at Jagged Wrath Golf Club. The airport is literally a golf cart ride away from the clubhouse. Wide fairways and undulating hills are seen abundantly throughout the course. Still some tight areas will require careful placement specifically when the wind is blowing hard off the coast. Some short par 4's may tempt you, and some long par 4's may frustrate you. The par 5's could be feast or famine as well, even more so depending on the wind. The par 3's are mostly medium length with 14 being the showcase hole. While both the front and back nine view the coast, the back nine does feature more signature coastline holes.
While a considerable amount of the island is rocky and jagged, there are also a few smooth beaches that allow residents and visitors an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing day off. In some of those areas, beautiful tall grass and flowery dunes separate beach and golf. Some ponds will be seen throughout the course, mostly on the front 9. Also be aware of OB throughout the course, but most OB is placed simply for the protection of the golfer.
"At Jagged Wrath Golf Club, the land and golf are aged, yet raw." -Unknown
Please note that this is a highlands course and the game will default the fairways to soft. The fairways should be played at firm. The greens are set at 175 for cc purposes, but they play really well at 187. For the most part the pins go from 1 (tame) to 4 (harsh) but overall they are on the easier side as it is geared towards CC play. I probably could have made them tougher in some instances. I recommend playing the course in high winds in order to feel the full effect of the coast. Northwest winds are the most fun in my opinion (but be careful with the drive on 5 with this wind).
Recommendations for the tees: Black - Pro tours or anyone that loves a challenge (master clubs) White - CC pro or amateur (master or pro clubs) Blue - CC amateur or beginners (pro or beginner clubs) Gold - Beginners (beginner clubs)

This is a wonderful course to finish off my CCDC playthroughs. Holes 9, 14, and 18 are easily my favorites, but this course is filled with eye candy and great hole designs. I loved the rockwork and grass planting with flowers. The little ponds throughout the course and near the sandy beach were great. One thing that really stood out with this course is the detail put into making the houses near the first beach on the front nine. You can tell time was taken to really make them look like houses being lived in instead of just some buildings thrown down near a road. Kellen, you got one hell'of'a' course here! I will probably not return for rounds on a lot of the courses in the contest... but this course will get at least another 2 rounds from me. Well done sir! Well done.

Thanks so much for choosing to play my course. I’m glad you enjoyed your round and are considering playing again. Those are some of my favorite holes as well. I’m glad you appreciated the design of the homes near the beach. I added that in the last couple days and would have liked to add that detail to the 2 other sections of homes but ran out of objects. How did you shoot?

I really enjoyed this course, it's easily one of my personal favourites in this contest. A very well crafted and complete environment filled with memorable shots and beautiful visuals. I thought 9 was going to be the showstopper until I got to 14 where I got this awesome clip. Almost followed it up with the ace on 16 as well, another favourite shot was the drive on 5 where I managed to cut the corner up and over the lake which lead to an eagle opportunity. I played masters from the tips and thought the difficulty was very well balanced. My round ended up as a bogey free -9, which is a very good round for me. Sign me up for whatever else you design in the future.

I really appreciate it! Great shot on 14, I love seeing someone ace that hole! I’m glad you enjoyed the course. I’m looking forward to creating the next course once the new game comes out. Thanks for playing this one.
bubbadave: Truthfully. Give me a 170 over a 135 any day.

sroel908: And as someone who's rangered/scheduled hundreds of courses, trying out a wide range of conditions, I can say with certainty that green speeds do have an impact and definitely matter.

sroel908: Green firmness is more about how the ball interacts with the putting surface when you hit an approach into it. A soft green is more receptive, and will allow more backspin than a firm one. A firm green will have less bite and more rollout.

meunier33: I have seen 135 greens that putt like they are 170. Therefore, we can conclude that green speed does not matter.

meunier33: Why isn't there a green firmness meter on the score bug? Green firmness matters much more than green speed.

meunier33: I still play this game like it was the game before 2K21. Up until this month I have never tried to change anything about how I play the game. It has made me worse trying to adapt also.

OldManGaming606: The biggest swing adjustment and best for competitive golf IMO, was 2k21 and addition of tempo.

Art Vandelay: each time the game has been issued (TGC, TGC2, TGC19, etc) the game play changes. Some more than others. You have to adapt. Or go away, like some have.

Wutpa: I think a lot of people here have figured out what your problem is, and it's not what you think it is.

meunier33: EG the best swing used to be hard and low and not a high swing like it is now.
Nov 12, 2024 14:51:27 GMT -5
meunier33: Im finally figuring out what my problem is though. I play the game like it used to work 4 or 6 years ago and I have trouble adjusting to how it now plays

zooby97: Is that all meunier33 does is COMPLAIN? Will you please ditch the game so I don’t have to see the complaints anymore, wow!
