Located an hour west of Charlotte North Carolina, Deer Brook Golf Course is a site to behold. Enjoy a round playing amongst the rolling foothills of our beautiful Appalachian Mountains. This course is great for all skill levels. While the distance can tease thoughts of low scores, the greens will try to put a stop to that. There are several greens with multiple feet of elevation change. Undulation is a staple of golf in this region. It will challenge you on nearly every putt. The course plays 6857 from the tips (6336 – white, 5725 – black, 4937 – green), but beware of the water and slopes. This can be a tricky course, but if you manage your shots wisely you can score low!
Personal favorites:
Hole 9- The drive on this hole is picturesque. You have to be careful on the drive as the landing area is sloped. A good drive can lead to an easy approach shot, but a misplaced drive can spell disaster. The old saying in golf is putts will break towards the water, and that is very true on this hole.
Hole 10- The 2nd shot on this hole is a great risk reward shot. While a long drive and 2nd shot can reach the green, you will be hard pressed to end up near the hole. A shot to the wrong part of the green will result in a par almost 100% of the time. But a well hit shot can open up chances for an eagle.
Hole 14- Long par 3 that requires carrying the water and a few bunkers. You will need to pick your club wisely here as anything off of the green spell’s disaster.
