A lidar version of the Rees Jones designed Three Ponds Farm, a private 'backyard' course located in Bridgehampton, New York, is now available (by searching 3 Ponds Backyard Lidar).
Creatively laid out on less than 60 acres of a former Long Island farm, Jones' design uniquely makes multiple usage of three fairways and four putting greens. Where the actual Three Ponds Farm is a 6,307-yard USGA-rated par 70 (slope 132) course, this TGC Tours lidar version is only the first nine holes playing at 3,063-yards, par 35.
*Note: This is a lidar recreation, but duplicating the exact same 18-hole playing experience as the real Three Ponds Farm would involve a second re-usage of the same pin on any given green (which the game does not adequately allow - according to my survey asked on this site). There are the first nine holes in this version, but the solution to make it 18 is to replay the course using the second pin option. I did my best to bring this unique Rees Jones course to the community (including the dutifully placed fescue grasses, general planting and its halfway house). Outside the playing of the course itself, an approximation of the facility's pool, rose garden and grass tennis court are also included.
Enjoy your rounds!
