4th round -6
Another round of ups and downs, I started off with a fast swing right into the bunker then a wedge that came up short which left me scrambling for bogey. Got myself back to evens on the 3rd and picked up 3 birdies on 5,7 and 8 before 3 putting the 9th to get to the turn at 2 under. By the time I got to the 15th I was 6 under thanks to a run of 4 birdies from 11 through to 14. Decided to go for a green side lie on the 17th and play a flop onto the green which led to a birdie. On the 18th a fast swing off the tee left me perilously close to the water and an awkward approach. I managed to hit the rough and the ball bounced down and sat on the green 64 ft away from the pin, where I miscalculated my power on my first putt and had to settle for a bogey.
Not an ideal round but it's done and dusted and I'll wait and see if I've still got that promo mark come Sunday morning.

The adventure continues as Mike tries desperately to avoid the dreaded fifth down arrow and a trip to CC-C. It started poorly with a bogey on #1 and only par on the par five #2, but I heated up slowly and made the turn at -4. The back nine I was smokin' and had seven birdies which should have been eight but I moved the putter accidentally thinking I had it in "hole cam" mode and got a phantom putt, cost me a stroke on a three-footer. Anyhoo, I was very happy with Round 3 @ -11

Rd 3: 58 (-13) Rd 4: 60 (-11) F -47 In round 3, I knew I needed a -12 to bank some points for the madness crew. Started off only -3 after the front and pretty much accepted defeat... but then got hot on the back to card one eagle and 8 birdies for a 26 (-10) back nine! Sorry, sandsaver01 great round you had as well.

Round 3 - Tolle Gutted Saving my story for the recap, I’ll just say it’s tough staring down an oppo’s -10 (well played, Pat Celtic Wolf). Compounded by a bogey and a double on two of the front par 3s (tee shot on the despicable #9 into the drink yielded the double), and it was over at the turn. -4 Not even SkyBlueBen could be interested in this round.

Round 4 - oh so close, a victim of my own greed. Needing -7 to win against Wes, I was -3 after 6 and looking solid. Par on #7, then my brain turned all the way off. Greed set in and attempted to drive the no at all drivable #8. Needless to say, the rocks took hold and toss my ball into the bay. Double. Next the gruesome #9, where very firm greens said nope to the chosen 1-iron (forever lamenting my choice to forego the 4-iron for this event, the clear best choice). Skipped off the back of the green with a severe downhill chip onto glass. Bogey. Even at the turn, with little hope. However... birdied 4 of the next 5, but 3 straight pars sealed my fate. In a twisted show of a course having the last laugh, my approach on 18 struck the flag stick low, and stopped the ball 3 feet from the pin for a routine bird and a finishing score of -5 Sorry, team and SkyBlueBen, but I may be facing my first blob since Season 7. I am crestfallen.

Round 2 Was nearly a great round. Clean front with an iggle on 2 courtesy of a chip in and 4 chirps. Inward was all gangbusters with chirps on 5 holes. On 18 a nice drive left me 120 out, hit a smooth club that the slop took just right enough to find the back fringe, which lead to the water. Did get up and down for the Humph. -10. Onward to one of the matches I dread the most. The gal who has my number (but don't tell Mrs. V), can't beat her if she let me, Carol inflames47 . Should just mail this one in. OK Girlie gurl, let's rumble! Well this should be interesting ! We always have fun competing against each other, perhaps we should be a team instead !! Good luck I am not going to say you need it, more like I need it.
