When we began this journey 8 months ago as I finished mapping the course in OSM, I truly never thought this course would come this far. I was hoping someone would take on the course and give it a decent version, and I knew that’s what we were going to get when you decided to do it.
But man, I never saw the course being this impressive. This is way more than “decent,” my friend. This is truly a masterpiece, easily one of the best Lidar courses ever made. I could be detailed about certain things you carefully manipulated on every hole (we notice that stuff even though it may seem like we don’t), but there’s so much here that I wouldn’t even know where to start. I’m so glad that I was able to fulfill a tiny little role in this insane production. Hats off to you man, this deserves all the praise!

Maybe you should tag Rockmandan in the thread see what he makes of it knowing his absolute dislike of Lidar. That’s funny Les, but I’m probably not going to go there. I think regardless of what anyone says or does his mind is made up on lidar. Interesting thought though. This is a post by Rockman on another post the guys an idiot and got a serious problem with Lidar courses. He actually thinks Lidar takes a short time to get right. Remind me again how long you spent doing your course Jeff Quote: The question is not quantity, but quality. Any idiot can post an Autogen or a LiDAR/OSM plop and drop in 1/2 hour or less. I don’t think those are the kind of courses most players will be looking for.

Yes, definitely the critic to some Lidar course is often not senseless at all..unfortunally there are a good number of courses created with Lidar, a lot, to be honest, almost totally naked..or anyway not enough cursmed aboyt planting and all those detaiks importsnt to have a good course. In this sense, in the wrong hands Lidar could be easily an industry of low quality courses and not the fantastic source of precision and realism that could/should always be. You're definitely right..Quality is way more important than quantity. And this work made by Jeff is a great spot for what Lidar can add to this game.

You're definitely right..Quality is way more important than quantity. And this work made by Jeff is a great spot for what Lidar can add to this game. Jeff spent over 200 hours on dressing his Lidar course up all the Lidar did is saved him from doing the landscaping. I’ve seen these Lidar courses that have just been pushed out in a few hours, I played on yesterday which is a local course to me and he’s put very little time on it in fact none of the tee’s are flat. The 18th tee you have to hit a three wood off the tee because it’s slopes front to back so much you hit the ground just in front of the ball and the ball goes no where. He also has put no clubhouse or out buildings into the design. Now I know that club has a simulator you can hire in the clubhouse area and so I think he’s just knocked out an inferior version for that. My point is people spend less time creating a fictional than Jeff spent on his Lidar recreation.

A fantastic addition to the good RCR's

The time you took to lay the rock walls around tees and cliffs is incredibly impressive. Those are such a distinctive part of my memories from visits to ACC and other Austin area courses.

Played this last night with ryanmcconnell and was blown away with the effort put into it. The waterfall feature on the left of the green (11 I think?) was incredible. Seriously good publish, can't wait to see what you do with the next one.

To me you’re right at the top of the list of designers I admire and aspire to be like.

There’s a bit of genius in this Jeff. It’s gone straight to the top of my favourite course list. I love a RCR and there’s some beauties in that list but this is just phenomenal.
Can’t wait to feature it in Designed by Dirtbags next week. Thank you for all those hours you put in, it is greatly appreciated.

hoosierhoops24This is Pennybacker bridge there are no supports in the centre but there are the two arches, not sure how you could have got the arches in until HB allow us to rotate everything 360 deg.
