Does anyone have any pointers on how to play in very high winds?

Create 4 fairways and greens on the designer (doesn't need to be anything flash), Put down one tee and have the 4 holes facing East/West/North/South from that tee. Then crank the wind up to Very high and practice. Hope that makes sense

Additionally flatten the whole plot so you can accurately estimate the landing place and roll in a “normal” scenario, that way you can track the wind impact aswell as the club length at the same time.

Does anyone have any pointers on how to play in very high winds? I am currently experimenting with draw/fade to account for cross winds. Into and with the wind will take some practice. I feel like a 20 mph headwind will take around 25-30 yds off the clubs distance.(I don't have the exact formula) Creating 4 holes is a great idea for practice.

Headwinds and downwind shots don't give me as much trouble as the crosswinds do. I've been experimenting with the draw/fade as well but just can't seem to get it dialed in. I've also tried to use the aiming rectical same result. I'm in the process of building the four holes and experiment with that.

This ones a bit trickier to explain....
Make a huge flat plot in the designer Cover it in fairway Run an 1000yd thin straight line of green North to South Run another 1000yd straight line of green East to West cutting through the first line at 500 yds Do the same twice more from NE to SW and NW to SE Make 8 hole, all from the centre of the star shape to the end of each green line.
You can now tee off in any direction and because you want the ball to end up back on the straight green line you can record how different wind directions affect the ball. Not just tee shots because you can continue along the greens after you’ve hit the tee shot.
Does that make sense?

This sounds interesting and effective going to give it a try. Is there anyway you can illustrate how it should look?

The thin lines you mention are they made of green or fairway?

The thin lines you mention are they made of green or fairway? Riotous said "green". It might not be a bad idea to use sand instead though, easier to see.

Wow, that's intricate, looks amazing! I'll have to give it a try although i must admit the designer is really not my forte. Have you published this yet?
