Think you will only be able to alter difficuly settings in your career mode (if wish to play that of course) All games have various settings, keeps folks playing and at their level. Sales will be down if all folk read in reviews is that the game is "too hard". The new game will have swing difficulties pretty much what we have now but not the distance penalty we have now on pro and beginner. Also from what HB Shaun is suggesting there will be more customization for turning aids on and off in societies.

Beginner, amateur, pro and tour pro ð That is four, not five I don't care anything about what they are called btw - just that we have more options when it comes to difficulty levels. And I really hope they have removed the stupid difficulty settings for the career tour, so that you can have varied weather and conditions and realistic AI scoring (at least as realistic AI scoring as possible).

Well all above interesting.
Not enough info given out. Which considering the pre order is being pushed then I think they could give more out.

Maybe the course designer has been improved to help alleviate this issue, otherwise I just can't see this course looking very good using the correct routing.

Guess they'll have filler courses like the last game. Some of those courses were not well done.

As I have said a thousand times; they need to give us the ability to choose what courses we like to have in the career mode, else that mode is totaly ruined with fantasy courses for me. And as you say - 15 courses are not enough to fill a schedule.

I think the problem is that there is only going to be the featured Pros and they're are going to only have cut scenes for the 15 licensed courses. They won't have a canned video for Matt Kuchar stiffing his approach at 18 on Firethorn National 2020, for example. Of course they could just drop the cut scenes on non licensed courses also?

They have license on both tournaments and courses. So we get the 15 tournaments and the courses. That is all good. But that is not going to fill a schedule - so they need to fill in with fantasy courses (they can't use more real courses due to licensing). As long as they give the ability to customize the schedule outside those 15 licensed tournaments, that is good. Those that like fantasy can add those courses they like - and I can play a career mode without courses I dislike. If they don't have the ability to customize the schedule - the whole mode is totaly ruined for me. I will not play a career mode on fantasy courses. There should be no problem to have this customization in the game.

I am starting to wonder if adding in the pros is just going to be a hindrance more than anything. A lot of causal players want to play as the pros, but you can't do that in 2K21. So what's the point?
Also, I have to think that the PGA TOUR may have some say in the prevention of a customized schedule in career mode. I know Tiger Woods games in the past allowed for course substitutions in career mode, but it was only for courses that took place at DLC locations. In TW 14, TPC Scottsdale was a DLC course, so you could swap it out for another and the event would change from the Waste Management Phoenix Open to something like the EA Sports Invitational.
The difference between the TGC/2K21 games and the TW games is that TW came with a set number of official courses. The TOUR knew exactly where the events could be played in TW's career mode. TGC allows for the creation of all sorts of weird and wacky designs with some ... interesting names and layouts. Despite how frustrating it is for us users, I could see the PGA TOUR having a problem with someone playing a tricked up course with an objectionable name, and the game saying it's a PGA TOUR event.
It is lousy that we haven't been able to customize career mode, and I hope we can in 2K21, but I think there may be other higher powers at play that prevent that from happening. At least that's the only reason I can come up with...haha.

I cannot see any reason the PGA tour would object to the gamer change the fantasy courses that HB has put in the career mode as filler courses. I would guess they wouldn't object to let HB let the gamer change the tournaments that are in the game either. The licenses that 2K/HB has got gives them the right to use them - but I can hardly see anyone objecting to let gamers change it. And - the most likely objections and c&d would come from ANGC for any use of "Masters" and their course or any other trademark they have. And the solution to that I guess is more censorship in the new game when it comes to name (You can't title your tournament "The Masters" for example).

Like I said, that was the only reason I could come up with...we know they can allow us to set up seasons and customize schedules, since that's exactly what the Societies let you do. The function is there. There must be another reason they can't do it. Perhaps they will surprise us all and allow customization in career mode in 2K21, but I don't know who ultimately makes that decision.
