PARIS
In 1919 after the armistice of World War I, The Treaty of Versailles was penned, and agreed to. The treaty is widely viewed as the most important peace document signed during this time. The treaty took effect one hundred years ago.
January 10, 1920.
Centennial 2020
The Olympic Committee has selected Paris as host of the 2020 Olympic Games, one hundred years after the Treaty of Versailles.
In honor of the hundred year anniversary, a central pond and falling water display have been built. Both features are referred to as Parc de Parley. In addition, a golf course was built throughout the property.
The front nine begins by winding itself around the Parc de Parely. Holes 7, and 8 head north; and the first nine ends by shaking hands with the palace itself.
The tenth offers a shot across both garden and water, and then heads downhill into a more forested portion of the golf course. After a trip around the other side of the Parc, the closing holes again focus their attention on the palace. The course centerpiece, 17, show's off it's island green. Finally, the 18th offers a moment of reflection to the golfer. To a champion it offers grand closure.
Fixes will be coming to holes 15 and 16, apologies to the committee.

After visiting Versailles in December, I compiled a bunch of Google Earth pics, Topo Maps, books- and spent way too many hours trying to figure out how to build a golf course on Versailles. The undertaking seemed too massive for me (and probably not enough object meter), so I bailed. I'm looking forward to this!

The undertaking seemed too massive for me (and probably not enough object meter), so I bailed. I'm looking forward to this! It was always a pipe dream of mine as well, and I finally said screw it. The Palace, and Palace grounds are one to one. When measured I could actually fit the entire property one to one diagonally on the plot. Obviously I decided to put a little twist on the lower half with new features, but none the less I hope you enjoy your round! If people are familiar with my courses, as always, there will be another "updated" version in the future.

Your re-creation of the Palace, gardens, and pools were incredibly done. I cant imagine the amount of time you spent on all those details. I'm surprised you got 1:1 scale, I had shrunk everything by 30%- but I had planned on using the Palace as a starting point and doing 2 out and back routing (north half and south half, 1 out, 9 back, 10 out 18 back) focusing more on the forested areas adjacent to the long pools. That approach on 18 is one of my favorite in the entire game.
16 and 17 both could've used a small retaining wall, but I'm sure your meter was running very low by that point. excellent concept!

I'd send you the file if I could, unfortunately I designed it on xbox :/ And thank you very much for the comments.

This was a wild ride... Good effort on the theme and atmosphere of what you aimed to create, it's certainly one of the more sophisticated fantasy courses in the game.
That said I feel like this course was more of a vanity project rather than a major course. I think this sort of project would have been better suited to some other contest as I can't see anything of this level of fantasy hosting a once a year major.
Once again good effort on pulling off what you envisioned, I enjoyed quite a lot of the holes on here, some of the long fours had the classic trope of "force the player to hit a wood/hybrid, but apart from those it was enjoyable.
