I dont know how to explain this so ill try using "couple" examples. Is it possible to edit courses by adding stuff from OSM using chads tool, without losing edits done in game? Lets say ive done editing first 9 holes in TGC editor and then ill notice that im missing hole no. 10 or something else that is really time taking to add in game. Or Ill want to add new hole to already done course (ofc ill have .course file) and i want to add data from openstreetmaps without destroying anything else from the course. Or if i want to edit course that ive published last year, do i have to start from beginning or can i just add some stuff from osm and keep it the same otherwise? Is it possible to even import small stuff like cartpaths? When im trying to find a way to do this ill end up with empty course that includes only changes that imported from osm (fe. only couple cartpaths). Or if ill import everything from new osm file ill lose edits that ive done ingame. Now it seems like i have to fully finish editing osm before i start editing it ingame, there is no way back after that without losing edits ingame. Im doing my first course and ill notice a lot stuff done wrong in osm while editing ingame, and its a bit frustrating not to be able to go back osm to correct mistakes without losing ingame edits.

I have wondered the same things as you, and encountered the same issues. For example one time I tried importing only cartpaths (just checking only that box in the tool) on a course which already had all the rest of the OSM stuff imported, and just as you said, only cartpaths were on the plot and the older stuff had disappeared. I didn't want to re-import the whole OSM because just as you described I had made changes already in the designer and did not want to lose them. Short answer made long - I would like to be able to do what you described but do not know how either. Is it not possible or are we just missing something?

I have to clear everything from the course that you import. I don’t know if there’s already a fairway right there or if there’s an auto generated course on the land. Some of these are just annoying: like two tee boxes stacked on each other; others crash the game or make the greens play wrong. It’s best practice to finish OSM and then bring the completed course into the game for planting and polishing. The lost time is unfortunate when you make a mistake but it’s not like the HB designer itself has many protections against wasting time and having to start over. I guess this is one of those live and learn things that only happens to you once. You should be ahead in overall time with most of the sculpting done. Everything you can do in OSM can be and has been done by people in the ancient times directly in the designer. Should be old tutorials on peek through and Google Earth, etc.
