I have been playing this game somewhat consistently for about 4 months or so probably. I've never had an issue with backswing tempo. In the last week or so, I have been getting all these slow backswings. It is especially prevalent on my wedge shots, my drivers are still Perfect on the back swing 98% of the time. Is it potentially my controller or what? Im also on XBOX so i know there have been well documented tempo issues there but I have always dealt with them on the down swing never the back swing.

In general, I find that slow backswings happen because you have a pause at the transition from the backswing to the downswing. Try to make a very brief pause (or less) at the top/transition of your swing.
On drive you are often blasting it down the fairway, so you let it rip. But on approaches you want to be precise, so sometimes you may now and then have a hesitation at the top of the swing because you are overly worried/sensitive to your downswing on the follow through.
Hope this helps you!

I'm on PS4 so tempo's are more forgiving, having said that, I can get p/p for days, and the second I plug in my headset/microphone it's near impossible for me to avoid nothing but FAST downswings. Needless to say, I never play with a headset/microphone.
Do you typically play with a headset on Xbox, or not? Just sayin', a possible temporary solution (could be server traffic) would be to try and play with a headset plugged into your controller.

I don't know how it works on XBox, but periodically stuff like this it starts to happen to my controller too, and when it happens i just recalibrate it on Steam (i play on PC) and it restart to work more or less flawlessly.
If this issue is randomic, probably is something else, but if you see a certain issue with your swing it starts to be an habit whike you do always the same things , try to recalibrate your controller.

I noticed this last night when playing my CC event. I was playing with a ghost that I was tied with thru round 2. I removed the ghost and my backswing was back to normal. I play on ps4 btw

When i'll back at my pc i'll tell you the complete procedure, if you want. Right now, i remember only that you must click with the mouse's right button on the Steam icon in the active programs bar, beside the clock on your desktop. One of the options available is "Setup" (i'm not sure if in english is traduced with this exact word). If you select this option, a window on steam will be open and one of the option (right side of the window) is about your controller. This option is very important also cause it allows to Steam to know exactly what controller are you using. You can/must indicate if your is a XBox or PS4 controller or something else. To complete the whole procedure is useful especially to avoid that your controller fails the API. There are various options, about vibration, color of the led (on Ps4, i don't know if XBox has led), name of your setup (cause you can have various setups for the same controller or for various controllers) etc etc. There are also 2 kinds of calibrations. One is fast..and is the one i use generally. The other is slower and is the one you should use the first time and everytime you recognize there is something too wrong. It requires to move 10 times every stick on you controller. Doing this, Steam calibrates your controller and, after this, it sets also the "ideal" dead zone on every stick of your controller. Then you can change that dead zone in the way you like the most. About this, although it could sounds as a good thing, to have a huge dead zone (then to have a controller less sensitive), personally, i find it makes easily the stick too much, if not totally, unsensitive, so if i could give you an advice, don't use more than 4-5 clicks on the bar (if i remember well, to fill the bar it requires 30-32 clicks). Furthermore, i can't swear on it but i suppose that a too big dead zone could easily let your controller to fail the API. And sometimes Steam sets automathically a really huge dead zone, so..just try to play a bit with this setting looking for the best for your swing. As said before, if you have some difficulty to find the option, i'll be happy to indicate where it is. Just let me know

I play on xbox. And I've had that issue from time to time but mostly with driver and fw woods. Then after a weeks it fades away. Now its become alot of fasts on backswing. Sort of like real golf for me you never know what lies ahead.
