if the greens weren't always rolling at a 4 on the stimp lol, gotta love NYC municipal golf. I played Clearview Park yesterday (in the rain) for the first time and found that the greens actually have more dirt than grass. Also there are no fairways, the entire course light rough.

Actually was funny I played pretty horrible on the front 9 and then the rain hit and I shot -1 on the back One of my better 9s of the year, and in the absolute worst weather

Far from the worst, but one thing about this hole has always baffled me, on an otherwise impeccable course. I don't think that hole is too awful, a bit odd but the pond does dictate a longer hitter's strategy. Definitely doesn't seem as exciting a hole as the 1st, 4th, 9th or 13th on the same course.

Ehh, it's just miles off with the rest of the course and completely breaks the flow. Like I say, it's not the worst, but it doesn't fit at all.

Yeah, doesn't seem to belong with anything else on the course. The finish at RCD is a little modest compared to the start.

I got to play these about a week ago. It's a county park course, so I didn't expect much, and for the most part it was fine, but these two holes sucked.
With those trees on the right, you would need to hit about a 300-320 yard tee shot with a 50-60 yard fade to clear the water. So instead you get to hit about a 200-215 yard straight tee shot, and then have anywhere between 180-200 in depending on how close you hug the water. If you go too far off the tee like I did, then you have to deal with trees between your ball and the green. The hole sign siad par 4/5, but it sucks as either one.
This is a par 5. In order to see the green in 2, you would probably need to hit about a 330 yard draw. If you don't have that in the bag, then you get the satisfaction of hitting somewhere between a 100-120 yard layup shot. Fun!!

I’d agree with this, awful hole on an otherwise perfect course

Jesus. They’re awful Those could be kind of decent holes with some tree removal to allow players the option to try to carry the water. However, as is, those holes are a perfect example of what I both love and hate about muni-type golf courses. I love the quirkiness but at the same time I hate the fact that someone probably got paid to design those holes!🤔

They'd have been better off shortening both holes and rerouting them. some proposals: You should just email this photo to the course some light charity work for the sake of the game. The only drawback I see is that in the 2nd hole the amount of golf balls that will be smoked dead left into that shed might dent a few cars or break some windows, as everybody is going to bail out from the pond.

Can't get the image to appear for some reason, above is the hosted image.
This gem is on a 9 hole municipal course not far from me. I have played here a handful of times as its a good place to take my 5 year old without the eye rolls from "serious golfers" that probably have 18 handicaps. This is the 9th hole, a 95 yard par 3 with the green approximately 60 feet elevated. It's essentially a 58 degree shot at which you can only even see the top of the flag from certain pin placements. The worst thing about this hole as you can see is that it backs up to the parking lot and the clubhouse. Being that it is only 95 yards and is a course that attracts less avid golfers, anyone parked behind the hole or standing outside the club house is playing with fire. a hard pitching wedge is easily into the lot.

They'd have been better off shortening both holes and rerouting them. some proposals: on the second hole. If you just leave the tee box where it was and open the pond up to the right it would almost be a 16 template at sawgrass
