OOTP21 - Anyone playing?

I just got it, and I'm hooked.  Despite the lack of actual gameplay, the game is almost overwhelming in its depth.

Anyone else playing?

Yes, I play this a ton. I started playing with OOTP 18 and have been learning more as I go. I've probably logged more than 1000 hours between 18-21. It was incredibly overwhelming at first, but these tutorials helped me alot  I don't do the Perfect Team stuff very much, I primarily play multiple saves at a time using different play styles. This year I have:

- My main MLB save (Blue Jays) where I go day to day and tinker with my lineups, and watch alot of the games. It's slow going but I like to see how teams and players are doing on a day to day basis. I think I'm in mid-June and currently just leading the AL East!
- My fictional save. A 32 team Canadian Baseball League that runs in present day with early 90s financials (so simulate that its still a good league but can't compete money wise with the MLB). All the Jerseys, Ballparks, Logos are all custom (from the OOTP website) including the minor leagues. I carried this save over from OOTP 2020 and currently in 2024(?). Have these videos on youtube. I run this sim a bit quicker, usually week to week.
- My Mariners Youtube save. Not as into this one, but I try to make shorter videos for Youtube purposes and try to get through a month in about 20 minutes. 

And a few of us from the TGCT community Trayys catcherman22 Doyley SmilingGoats and I are doing an 32 team online league using custom teams and logos and uploading files through dropbox. It is just gettting started but should be alot of fun. Once you've got your head wrapped around how everything works, you are welcome to join us as a 6th GM!

All these leagues keep me busy for sure!

Hey thanks, Andre. I did pop in for a few minutes when you were drafting (I think) on Twitch. I just started a Cubs team with a fantasy draft. I am very frustrated with the injuries. In another save, my entire 5-man rotation was injured within the first 15 games of the season. Two guys on the 60-day DL. In my most recent save, my #1 starter had to leave the OD game after 2 innings with hamstring tightness. My trainer is supposed to be first rate but maybe I need to fire his ass.

Anyways, I'll let you know when I've got everything under control. As a fan, I thought I knew a lot about baseball, but it seems like I have a lot to learn.

Well, that was a fun season...not.

Based on the fantasy draft in brand new save, I was given goals of over-500, playoffs within 4 years. I got a nice dressing down from Tom Ricketts after my 79-83 season. Kept my job though. Now I have to play over-500 ball, playoffs within 4 years, resign 2 players, and lower my bullpen ERA (which was terrible). My pitching coach retired, so I can go out and get someone good. I'm still working on learning baseball transactions and all that. I would love to join you guys, but I need a few days more with the game. Cubs available?

We do a full fictional league with fictional teams and players! Take your time and get used to the game and you can join us when you are ready if you want.

If you're a cubs fan, I'm sure you'd love to be in charge of a team named the Cardinals

I've been hesitant to get OOTP because I played it so much in years past that I started losing much interest in it. But with lockdown and not much going on elsewhere, I've been tempted. I'd be pretty interested in your fictional league if you still have spots.

I've been debating between OOTP and Football Manager. I'm not a huge soccer fan, but for that reason I think that game could be fun for me to dive into something new and unfamiliar.

Yeah, that could be confusing for me too, hopefully a bit of FIFA experience will help me there. It would definitely be a learning curve but I guess no better time to learn lol, I'll probably get OOTP 21 this week though.
