Whoa...this will NOT cost anything close to $800!! It has to be set at a price where the masses can go out and pick one up without feeling like they won't be able to eat or pay their mortgage for a couple months. The price will be in the neighborhood of $499-$549 for the model with the 4K blu ray player and the all digital model will come in around the $399 range.

How does that convert to Canadian dollars with taxes? Maybe it is near $800 Sounds about right and in the general area of what I've been expecting.

Yeah I'm going $499 disc model/$399 all digital. I've only purchased games off the ps store when theyve been on sale for about the last 2 years and signed up for PS Now which is $42 for a year at the moment. Can't recall ever putting a dvd in it so it seems pointless getting a disc model. Think I'll go the Olivia Newton-John route I'm gonna get digital, digital.

I only have one disc game that I still play and that is GTA 5. Since GTA Online is going to be free for PSPlus subs, i won't need the disc since i've already completed the story mode and most of the tasks for offline. I am curious about our little golf game though. We haven't heard of any next-gen versions so i'm curious if we are going to be in backwards compatibility for a year - or even if the game is going to be backwards compatible at all for both consoles. Maybe i'll ask at HB Forum and see if they answer.

I am sure RDR2 will be ported over as well at some point.
Here's one for ya. How about make a new GTA VI for the love of god. It's been 7 years now!

I don't think so, both consoles will be backwards compatible so I'd expect GTA to be one of the games they validate for it.

I mostly buy digital now, but Black Friday sales usually see me grab a few games on disc. Plus I don’t have a 4K Bluray player yet so I wouldn’t mind the disc version for that.

My favourite part of the presentation was how they started with the GTA 5 announcement and then cut to the guy talking about the PS5 being a huge jump from PS4 and it'll be able to do things we've never seen on consoles before.
I do hope with backwards compatibility games you already own on PS4 that will continue to exist on PS5 will just come with a free or even $5 or $10 upgrade patch to the PS5 version. I doubt I'd consider paying full price for any PS4 game I already own just to get fancier graphics and shorter load times.

I remember Battlefield 4 and EA Sport games having a code in the box to upgrade onto PS4 from PS3 for $10. I think it took over 2 days to download BF4 where everything was so slow at PS4 launch. That game was horrendous for PS4 when it first came out with all the lag, you'd go 3 steps forward and get pulled 2 steps back on the Hainan resort map if thats what it was called. I couldn't play it after a while as it would make me car sick.

I couldn't play it after a while as it would make me car sick. I remember it well. About a month or two before the PS4 came out Future Shop has a trade-in promo where you could trade any PS3 or 360 game for a new PS3 or 360 copy of BF4, whatever the new CoD game was, or whatever the new Assassin’s Creed game was. I traded NHL 2K7 for BF4. Then when I bought my PS4 it came with a $10 PSN credit which I used to upgrade to the PS4 version of BF4. Very rough game for a while but also the last BF game I’ve played extensively as it did eventually fix its problems.

I like the Battlefield series, enjoy it much more than CoD. CoD is too arcade for my liking. The destructive environments in BF are great. It was too bad that 4 had those issues at first but they straightened it out.
BF 1 was fun and I play BF5 a lot still. Looking forward to the next one on PS5.

Another presentation today, guessing we’ll find out pricing, rellease date and when pre orders start. $400 for digital only and $500 for disc drive version. Not sure if there will be any launch games I am interested in, but being backwards compatible to PS4 is a big draw.
