I think this is where I should be posting this... I am completely new to all of this. My son got me into the course designer a few weeks ago, and now I would like to submit a course design for the Rookie competition this fall. I found a post that stated the design must be started after registration which I believe is September 1. Is there a place where I can see a list of other rules, the process for registering, and an explanation of how to submit my course when the time comes? I am designing on PS4. Also, as a Rookie designer, am I allowed to, and is there a way for me to share a "Beta" course to get a feel for the process and get some general feedback? Thanks in advance for any additional information you can share.

Here is the Rookie contest thread from last season. Should give you some good info: tgctours.proboards.com/board/94/rookie-design-challengeYou can design whatever you want and get feedback before the contest begins, you just have to start your actual contest course after the start date, and make sure you still fit the criteria for being a rookie. If you publish a course that gets selected for a tour spot on TGC Tours, you might not be eligible to enter the contest anymore so keep that in mind while designing in the meantime. These were the criteria for entering the rookie contest last year (is subject to change): Has not designed a course that has hosted any TGCTours event in any season (including ones using earlier editions of The Golf Club) Has not designed more than three courses that have been accepted into the TGCTours Course Database Has not participated in more than one Design Contest administered through the TGCTours forum website (including unofficial contests) Has not finished in the top 8 of any Design Contest administered through the TGCTours forum website (including unofficial contests) Has not participated in any previous Rookie Design Contest (the HB Rookie Design Contest from 2016 or last year's Challenge Circuit Rookie Design Battle)

bmckenzie69I am hoping to move registration up and have a longer design period, so keep an eye out for that. Also, the criteria for being classified as a "Rookie" will be more restrictive this year - definitely restricting to designers who have never participated in an official TGCT design contest.

ErixonStone Thanks for the Update! I am watching lots of tutorials and course reviews, testing themes, tricks, and techniques, and trying to decide what kind of course I want to plan for. My wife asks what I will get if I win, and I said the honor of being chosen the winner! She just shakes her head. :-)

I tell her it's more about the fun and camaraderie with the community than anything. She still shakes her head and wonders why I spend so much time working "for nothing". She'll never understand hahaha

The biggest eyeroll I got yet was when I said, "these guys are trying to build courses in 24 hrs. I bet I can watch the whole thing"
