I did get the Lidar from Open Topography. I was hoping to do Palmerston North GC and Manawatu GC, my two local courses. I was also hoping to do some more around NZ if I could get it to work but unfortunately I've come up empty so far. I'm going to try and make some US courses in the meantime. Hey ztiberiusd I've cracked it. I got in touch with one of the people credited with creating OpenTopography and after a fair few attempts, we got it sussed. Fair to say he definitely helped me out in a big way. Anyway, the way to sort it is to change the co-ordinates within the points export. The way to fix it is by doing the following: a) Download Lastools from here and unzip the file: rapidlasso.com/lastools/b) Copy your export into the folder called bin in lastools c) Open Command Prompt (type CMD into the search bar) d) Navigate to the bin folder within lastools on Command Prompt - likely type in: cd \downloads\lastools\bin e) It's likely that your file is called points.laz, if so enter the following command into Command Prompt: las2las -i points.laz -target_epsg 32760 -o points_new.lazThis will give you a warning: SERIOUS WARNING: horizontal datum of source and target incompatible Ignore it - it will take a few seconds and then eventually, your command line will come back in Command Prompt, meaning that it's completed f) That's it! Done. Copy your new file (points_new.laz) into your directory that you are using for your courses file and you're good to go! Hope that helps - let me know how you get on!

realbeard ! Incredible! That seems to have fixed it! Thanks so much for your work. I really appreciate it! Now to get to work on perfecting my home course. Let me know when you're done with Gulf Harbour! I'd love to play it. Thanks again!

Once you've done down Palmy let me know too! I reckon I might give Jack's or the Hills a go next. Would like Kauri Cliffs, Cape Kidnappers and Tara Iti but there's no Lidar available for those as yet. Good luck!!

Never played the real deal, but there is already a Cape Kidnappers course on TGC which is pretty well done as best as I can tell. Jack's Point would be awesome. I'm hoping to do Manawatu next which is the more prestigious course in PN. Thanks again!

I still absolutely suck at water, but I'm pretty happy with how the rest of it turned out. I feel like it's fairly true to the real deal. It's called Palmerston North NZ LiDAR on TGC. Couldn't have done it without your help!

No worries - I'll check it out! When I've got 5 minutes in between work, wife and kids, I'll finalise Gulf Harbour and drop you a line!

Enjoyed it - there are a couple of good holes on the back 9 where the water is. I liked your use of the hogan bridge! I haven't really been down to Palmy all that much, but next time I do, I might hit it up! I published my course yesterday - Gulf Harbour Country Club. I didn't add Lidar because I couldn't add any more characters into the title. I created it using the Protee version, so haven't seen it appear on the other version as yet (using Steam or Xbox). Trying to find out why that is though. Let me know if you play it.

I just played it. Very nicely done! The bunkers, fairways and tees, plus trees and scenery look awesome. Really fun course. I did pretty well on the front 9, -1, but blew up on the back for an 89 overall lol. I got stuck on the 11th green and couldn't make the putt, so had an 11. Then on the 16th I got overly confident in my driving distance and tried to hit the second part of the fairway which meant I was down near the water and couldn't get back out, so I had an 11 there too. Managed to birdie 1, 4, 8, 9 and 17 though. I think I could definitely shoot around par if I played it again with some prior knowledge.
I would say overall though, I think the greens are a little too brutal. I had the same thing happen with Bahle Farms. I think the slopes are just a bit too aggressive in places. In saying that, I've never played the actual course so it's hard to say. But on some of the holes I literally could not hole the putt. Perhaps I just need practice!! Great course nonetheless and I look forward to playing it again in the future and adding it to my regular rotation of courses I play.
I also created Manawatu GC in TGC, and I think it's better than my PNGC. It's called Manawatu GC NZ LiDAR in TGC.

If you are above the hole I've seen people end up halfway down the fairway if they go long. 13 can be the same. Theres a Master's Monday comp on the day of the final round of the Masters and they cut the greens to 13 on the stimp. The scores that day end up being mental. I normally play on a sim and because I buggered my wrist I wasn't able to test it beforehand. It's a pity you can't edit the courses you create as feedback is always good to hear. I'll give your Manawatu course a go!

I originally designed it for simulator play (not too fussed about the putting) but played it on Steam yesterday. Totally agree - it was a nightmare to try and keep the ball on the green in places. Think I might look at redesigning it if I play it more often on steam.
Cheers for your feedback!
