Seeing a lot of winged foot in this one Admittedly, I'm not familiar at all with Winged Foot and have never been much of a Tillinghast fan either. For some reason I always associated him with a flatter bunker style, and I guess what I mainly know him for is Bethpage Black which I'm also not a fan of. But looking at pics of the course I can definitely see the Winged Foot vibes, and I guess I should go brush up on my Tillinghast now. Originally, I was going more for Sandbelt greens, bunkering, and strategic value here but I knew I wanted to set it in a more parkland setting. Oh yeah. Well I was just looking at the few pictures you posted and the plan looked a bit reminiscent. Winged foot is a course that kind of interests me. It’s the antithesis of so many of the courses that are in vogue these days yet it’s still well respected. I think the greens are insane plus the relentless demands on the shot making. I played Bethpage back in 1998 just after it had been remodelled by Reese Jones. Despite insensitivity of the remodel, the course is still pretty awesome. It’s routed on a large scale and really uses the land in interesting ways. Hole 4 and 5 has got to be one of the better back to backs in the game. The greens are a little banal but as a public course It would be brutal if the greens were tough. I wish someone like Gil Hanse had done the restoration. He would have brought much more nuance and respect for the course history to the remodel.

So I got time to watch playthroughs before finalizing my conditions, yeah?

Another Petty masterclass. Loved the wide open spaces here. Made the course feel really grand. Enjoyed the wide variety of shots I played trying to pick my spots and moments to score. Ripper course man.

Really hope the PGA gets this one either as Olympic course or another event as it is ideal for a tour stop. No artificial junk keeping the scoring down but very tough all the same, pin 1 through 4. At the end of the day, it's no Laugharne, but it's still great.

Hey Brian,
Finally got around to playing this one and after playing, I don't really see the Winged Foot vibe ( a little bit), it's definitely a sandbelt course. Such an elegant design though man. The course just sits on the land so nicely and reveals these gorgeous long views. I also really like the texture choice and lighting as well as the minimal but effective planting. Kind of seems like something you would see in Japan, minimal but refined aesthetic.
Played in max high wind and shot 84, and played reasonably well. The greens although pretty big are so elusive with those shaved banks and run offs. Had so many dicey chip shots from around the greens. Its tough course but lots of fun recovery shots to be had.
All in all, I think this is a masterwork of restraint. Top notch stuff.

You saying we can't set a course in Fishkill, New York? I searched it several times and keep getting the bloody filter! I'll try again after work! I did think it was a bit rough!

So apparently this course was reported by somebody and removed from search, which is hilarious to me. Because of this, it has been RE-published under a hopefully more palatable name to whomever got offended. You can now find it under: GOATS LAUGHTER PARK
Enjoy.

I can still pull it up on PS4 and PC. Is it banned on Xbox only? Does Xbox even matter?
