If it wasn’t for all of the other people testing positive I’d say this was one big con job. Could still be for all we know I guess. When this first came out, I was like 50 - 50 on him actually having it.. then he went into the hospital and I went to like 90 - 10... now that he's leaving I am 1-99. I am pretty well convinced he doesn't have it and is using it as a publicity stunt to downplay the virus. Either that... or like I said whatever he was given needs to be made publicly available immediately

It says a lot that we're all here trying to figure out whether the President of the United States might be lying about contracting a deadly virus during a seven-month-long pandemic.

After his actions yesterday, I have zero empathy for Trump. That’s caused by his own behavior. He deserves whatever punishment covid lays upon him.
If that makes me a rotten person, then sobeit. I’m a rotten a person. But still not as rotten a person as he is.
Total disregard for the lives of everyone who works in the WH and absolutely willing to infect them. And I don’t mean just Cabinet members. I mean the cooks, cleaning staff, Secret Service, drivers, etc.
I don’t know how anyone can square it any other way.

President Trump on Tuesday continued to downplay the threat of the coronavirus after his release from the hospital while still under treatment for COVID-19, asserting that the virus that has killed more than 210,000 Americans is “far less lethal” than the seasonal flu “in most populations.”
“Flu season is coming up! Many people every year, sometimes over 100,000, and despite the Vaccine, die from the Flu,” Trump tweeted on Tuesday morning. “Are we going to close down our Country? No, we have learned to live with it, just like we are learning to live with Covid, in most populations far less lethal!!!”
Across the whole population, though, COVID-19 has been much deadlier. According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the worst flu season in the last 10 years was 2017-2018, when an estimated 61,000 Americans died. In 2018-2019, there were 34,000 U.S. deaths attributed to influenza. In 2019-2020, there were 22,000.
And comparative fatality figures don’t tell the whole story. There is increasing evidence that some number of coronavirus survivors have symptoms including fatigue, cough and cognitive problems that last for months, and organ damage that may be permanent. Those complications generally do not arise in people who recover from the flu.

Fortunately the people in this thread had figured it out that covid was not the same and it is way more dangerous than a flu months ago. We are smarter than the White House. Low bar I know but still Twitter marked the tweet as misinformation and FB removed it as being false.

We also knew he would try to use "his" sickness as a tool against Biden. Not going to work, there are groups that supported him before and they have switched sides.
Enough on that, we are getting too much into the political aspect of the virus ( I know it is political but they did us our own forum). Thanks for letting us get this far but I post a taste of politics in this thread to maybe get some interest in discussion over there but it seems there are only a few of us that are looking forward to the election and the results of same.
No name calling or attacking posts over there but I sure would like to know why any of our fellow TGCers would vote for Donald again or for the first time. I have two son in laws and now a newly registered grandson that are die hard trumpettes but wouldn't mind discussing with folks who are from outside of New England. I kn ow we won't change each others minds but I am baffled as to why anyone would want Donald for another 4 years.

It's all covid related though. He has interjected himself and the politics so deep into it, it's almost impossible to ignore.
And now he has decided to end any talks of another stimulus unless he wins and then he will immediately go for it. In essence, he is trying to blackmail the votes of those most in need due to this pandemic. How low can one person go? This is beyond shameful.
Congress needs to pass the stimulus for those people anyway and then override his veto. He is not a king.

So in the most crucial, pivotal VP debate of recent history rather than focusing on the content and motives of the candidates, nearly 600k and counting Twitter users have the fly that landed on Pence's head trending as a topic. This is not a political post since nothing political is transpiring with the fly, but I am just amazed at how shallow over half a million people are if their primary concern is the fly.
Hell coming out of Walmart this evening I had a fly and two bees swirling around my head; their are millions of them people. FOCUS ON THE GODDAMN CONTENT. I bet half of the people watching had no clue what either Pence or Harris was conveying, just watching to fit it. Get off tik tok and read the political stances.

I bet half of the people watching had no clue what either Pence or Harris was conveying, just watching to fit it. Get off tik tok and read the political stances. It was freaking hilarious. The fly was huge. Bigly. And on that cloud white hair it stood out so much. I thought it may have been an experimental drone from the Space Force that was going to try to snag some covid from Pence, then zoom over to Harris and try to infect her. We can walk and chew gum at the same time, meaning listen to what they were saying and laugh our asses off at the fly. It wasn’t an either/or situation ya know. We are capable of doing both. I’m sure you were? Just because a fly got more comments on social media does not mean people were not paying attention. And sheesh, it’s social media, what did you expect? Lol. It did not get as much coverage on post debate cable news. A little but not much. Yes, the fly was incredibly funny. And we heard every lie that came out of the man’s mouth at the same time. (she whupped his asz btw but that’s another topic for another thread somewhere). There ya go. Low level multi-tasking for the win

A fly may have been on Kamala's head but how would you notice... Meaning? She has black hair, and if a fly had been sitting in her hair, it wouldn't be noticeable. I know we're all primed and ready to jump down each other's throats, but this just points out that the fly was so obvious because Mike Pence has white hair.
