I tried to do a Bubba/Mickleson hook on Saturday (though I'm right handed). Normally I pull them off, sometimes to the amazement of my playing partners, because my natural shot shape is a draw.

Except this time I shanked it. Somehow I got a good connection off the hosel and it sailed over 100 yards into the adjacent field. I reckon a cow or two got a bit of a surprise.

sroel908: Green firmness is more about how the ball interacts with the putting surface when you hit an approach into it. A soft green is more receptive, and will allow more backspin than a firm one. A firm green will have less bite and more rollout. Nov 18, 2024 15:57:00 GMT -5
