If you are stuck in a round or otherwise are having an in game issue, please email commish@tgctours.com
If you post here, we're just going to reply that you should send an email. It's the way we keep track of all of the issues and you'll get quicker feedback than posting here.

Some seriously weird stuff going on. Finished first round then apparently had to continue the round next time I fired up the game. Ball was a inch from the hole on 18, driver in hand now playing the first hole again from 18 green. Like it started the round over except it was adding all my strokes to the first round.

That’s a very well known bug that’s existed from day 1 of TGC. To avoid it, when you complete your tournament round, ALWAYS play at least one shot of the round that follows. Then you can quit safely.

I thought the "18th-Hole-Bug" was gone with TGC2?
Didn't we have that discussion just a few weeks back?

I don’t recall a conversation about it...... maybe with someone else?? From the “symptoms” described, it totally sounded like the 1” bug to me. I may be mistaken, and the bug may be gone from TGC2, but I hadn’t heard that anywhere. Suffice to say, I’ve never given up the habit of playing at least 1 shot of the subsequent round.
Let me know if you find out if the glitch is gone for good!

This bug is similar, but different.
In TGC1, your ball would be placed 1 inch from the cup on the 18th green, and you'd be playing the 18th at the end of the previous round.
In TGC2, the ball sometimes gets placed 1 inch from the cup on the 18th green, but you're playing the first hole.
In both cases, any strokes you take are added to your original score. In TGC1 that meant one stroke. In TGC2, it's like combining the scores for two rounds.

Is it still advisable to take the first shot of the subsequent round to avoid the issue cropping up?

Let me say in my experience that I no longer play this way, I finish a round and pick it up another day and do not start the next round with one shot off of the 1st tee. However, if there are HB server issues going on or (less likely, but possible) local issues to the player going on... trying to restart in a questionable server state might/can be questionable. Basically I advocate for playing with time on your side as far as TGCT deadlines go when possible, and I mean PLENTY of time. After that they will try and work with you if you find an issue, but giving your rounds the benefit of the doubt of time is the best way to go when possible.
