I’ve come across a couple things during tournament play that confuse me. I’ve been playing cc-a all season and several times now the course conditions for a particular round have stated fast green speeds which in practice are 163 and then when I get to the actual round play at 183. The other problem is in the course condition descriptions it will say normal yet in game set up there is no option for a “normal” setting. Any clarification would be appreciated.

The default setting for greens speeds are as follows:
Very Fast: 187
Fast : 163
Moderate : 144
Slow : 12? (I don't remember)
Very Slow: 109? (I think this is right?!)
If you come across a green speed that is not the above settings, then the designer has set a different speed and the actual setting is 'Default'.. That may end up showing a result that is one or the other between one of the above default settings. a.k.a. 183 may show Fast or Very Fast... I am guessing they default to the lower setting (a guess here)?!?!

Of note: the in-game course description of "Fast" is not the same as the round setup option "Fast".
In the course description, the values are SLOW, MED-SLOW, NORMAL, MED-FAST, FAST and each of those represents a range of green speeds.
In the round setup, the values are DEFAULT (as published by designer), VERY SLOW (101), SLOW (119), MODERATE (144), FAST (163), VERY FAST (187).
HB didn't update the values on the course description (they're holdovers from previous games) to match the values in the round setup options.
