"This could have been a nice course but designing rules and basics are there to set standards in design."
The irony.

... just... well... yep.. Tough luck, Jamie. If it’s any consolation, I thought Frankston was a significant jump for you from your rookie course in terms of playability. And you absolutely nailed the Sandbelt look. Anyone who watched the President’s Cup knows that’s exactly how those courses are presented down under. The lone thing I didn’t really care for was 10 and 18 around the lake. Those holes felt kind of upscale and blingy, which clashed with the beautiful, natural look on the rest of the course. Good holes on their own, but I didn’t think they quite fit within the total package of the course. Other than that, this was one easily one of my top 4 courses in the comp and I had it going a long way. Chin up, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next. I’m a fan!

Ya Frankston nailed the look. It’s a shame it fell in the hands of an uneducated judge.

I get that judging is hard, but the number of comments on the "issues" with the bunkering on Frankston make me feel the judges entirely missed the point on this one. Why the "I get that judging is hard" phony disclaimer if you're going to tell multiple judges they basically dont know what they're doing? I'm not trying to attack judges because I disagree with their opinions. Many times my personal assessments don't line up with judging results, and that's the nature of the beast. If judges didn't like Frankston because they thought it was punishing, or just never got into their rounds, that's one thing. I wouldn't agree with that, but it's a valid opinion. But at some point, it becomes like carefully preparing a fine steak for a food critic, and them coming back to you and telling you that you cooked their chicken poorly.

A few guys have said what you have above about 10 and 18... When I was laying out the 10th the natural land form suggested that a lake would fit nice, so I went with it, although it doesn’t necessarily fit the rest of the course, I think 10 looks great albeit maybe on a different track lol! I’ll try my best to bring good stuff for the future.

Well now I feel bad that I advanced when I shouldn't have... I'd give you my spot if I could. This is all rather embarrassing. I really hope I lose to reeb in the next round (and I'm sure I will), otherwise I think my head will be on a pike around here.
Anyway, lost in all this is, is anyone gonna talk about the judge that called Brookfield Landing boring? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Your course was great, and it deserves it's moment in the sun. And there isn't anything on Brookfield that needs to be addressed. Do I disagree with that opinion? Absolutely. But, it's a valid opinion, and I don't think anything needs to be said about it. As far as Frankston goes, I don't want to "shame" the judges, and I'm sorry if that's how all of this comes across. I'm just a little frustrated on Jamie's behalf. Consider my venting done.

Pls, Warhawk, not hitting out on you bud... you’ve made a solid track.. and your right also, think Matt has mentioned it above. Totally non professional to hit out like that... Brookfield kinda kicked my ass, nothing boring about it!

Don’t be frustrated for me.. a lot of the judges comments I think are pretty fair, just that second Judge rattled me a bit with.... well, I’ve made myself heard. I’m also done on the ranting. Good luck in the rest of the comp... can’t let group B have it all their own way!!

Scary how far you’ve come just from rookie - I anticipated a jump in strategy but nothing like this. Know I said this in our message, but Frankston would have eaten Marlette alive and gotta be honest, whilst I’m gutted for you, I’m relieved there’s no chance of us meeting in R16. Instead I get Matt. Yay. Totally put yourself amongst the top guys straight away with this course and I cannot wait for the tour version (and that Irish links). Also really appreciate your feedback on Kaiuma and all of that friendly competition you have given me. Keep it going buddy and hold your head high.

Congrats to mattf27 and warhawk137 on advancing with a couple excellent courses. Tough break for golfwolfuk with another great course, hopefully after the rookie contest and WCOD I've hit my quota of being in the same group as you. Good luck to everyone left. Disappointing not to advance but not a surprise with this group. This was still a good experience and I think I have a good feel for what my weaknesses are at the moment so I'll be back. . .maybe with less planting. . .maybe.

Why the "I get that judging is hard" phony disclaimer if you're going to tell multiple judges they basically dont know what they're doing? Why does that have to be phony? He's trying to make sure it's understood that he gets how hard it is, and say something less "attacky" so it's not just him calling someone out. Additionally, he didn't say they didn't know what they're doing. "Missing the point" of one aspect of his course doesn't mean they don't know what they're doing as judges? Bizarre intervention by you there...
