Crash / Golfer Profile Lost

Was in the game at practice range when game crashed me back into Windows.  Restarted game & my custom made golfer was gone (reverted back to default), my clubs were set back to beginner.  I was also no longer outfitted with all the clothing & club accessories (& colors) I had earned (though still shown as purchased & available).  My achievement level did remain what it was.  This is the 2nd time this has happened to me.  The 1st time (a few months ago), I just recreated everything.  This time I tried to recreate again, but in the middle of it, I got kicked out of game again & again it reverted back, so I won't take my chance of wasting my time again unless i hear about a cause / solution.  Thanks for listening.  -NorEaster

I get this on occasion. Usually happened when i used to alt-f4 during launch when i noticed i hadn't got my controller plugged in.
I don't have a fix but i do have a nice work around which will save you the 20-30mins it takes to re-edit everything.

Go here and back up this file.
If you ever lose your profile again, drop the back up in here and it'll be like before you lost it.
Obviously if you make any huge changes to your character or clubs remember to back it up again.
