I've been dying to get started on this course for a while now. I've had the name in my back pocket for months. This will be my longest course (to par) at 7500 par 71. This morning I put in about 3 hours to set up my land and get my holes routed. I have a clubhouse, a road, and a coastline. Now I have to build a golf course. The toughest thing will be tournament objects because I've never used them (or crowds) before in design. That's the main reason I'm going for a links-style design.

Quick update: I am now simultaneously working on two courses, one of which will be published for this contest. I have the above-mentioned Attrition Point GC, and I have an unnamed wooded and narrow course which is a mash-up of Harbortown and one of my favorite courses in Myrtle Beach - Tidewater. The wooded course is pretty far along (working on 13th now), but I still like my links design for this contest. We'll see what I decide on in a month or so when both courses are essentially finished.
Edit: I forgot to say how much fun it's been to work with tournament objects and crowds. I've never used them before. Also, I love the freedom of working without light rough. I generally dislike courses without it, but for this contest, I'm happy to eliminate it. At first it was tough to work without it, but now I love it. No more jaggies!

Here are two images from the wooded course. I would use them as advertisements since the rest of the course is not on the waterway. lol

Here's a good idea of what I'm going for with my wooded course. There's some really expensive real estate on that waterway...

This may not be the most eye catching design in the history of TGC, but it's got some of the best holes I've ever designed when it comes to playing golf. Case in point, the short par 3 16th.

Love, Tidewater, played it many times!

Well, it's official (or I'm making it official). The wooded course, now named The Waterway Club will be my entry into the Major design contest. After this course, I'm moving all of my designing to PC (we'll see about the playing part - need a controller - mouse isn't cutting it). There's no way, even with all the free time I have now, that I'll get the other course finished in time. So, enjoy The Waterway Club.

I’m with you, switching to PC after this as well. Good luck in the comp!

The course is all but finished. It'll be published at or near the opening of the publishing window.

All finished and published. Please note, I published and then realized I forgot to change the name, so there are two versions of this course. The one with the name, The Waterway Club is the one to play.
Thanks!
