In the coming weeks and months, I will be starting a youtube series with tutorials for the GNCD. I'll start basic, with how to shape terrain, sculpt fairways and greens, design bunkers, and then get more advanced with planning layouts, detail planting, and other higher level techniques.
More information coming soon.
If you have requests for particular techniques or tutorials you would like to see, feel free to post them here and I'll see what I can do.
I don't expect to begin doing this until at least November, but we'll get there eventually!

I'll be interested in watching this. I've taken a couple stabs at the course designer but decided that my patience weren't up to the task. I just couldn't get the hole to look the way I wanted or the way I saw it in my head. Maybe your tutorials will change that!

Detail planting please. I HATE planting. So any help with that would be great. Or you could do all my planting for me.

I think I can make good holes and greens..But the course I can't make beautiful like so many others I see. I can't seem to use the brushes well enough..

This will be interesting, but I must admit I do much better with written tutorials vs YouTube ones. Maybe its because I can instantly read something vs trying to look up a certain part in a video, but to each his own.

Excellent. I believe I have a good knowledge of the use of the tools. I seem to have almost zero ability to artistically use them though. I also studied in depth the highly rated courses here, they build each and every hole from the ground up, and use none of the auto generated details. That takes a significant amount of time and attention to detail. They place and draw each and every tree, fairway, rough, bump, hill, slope, rock etc.... by hand. That's talent.
I agree with caddy above, video is nice, however written is better and both would be preferred.

Video is nice if it explains it well..for example I've seen some helpful videos but they just do and don't explain what brush they were using, how high the elevation they were showing etc. I can take full confidence that JW will explain it well..

As a quick update, I purchase a microphone headset this week and downloaded FRAPS. I will begin recording videos this week and SmilingGoats is working on a new page for our site that will feature the videos. Coming sooner that I originally thought!
