I have been struggling with a course that keeps getting both ends clipped off in the tool. I have plenty of lidar data area around the course and everything works and looks good until the end when you come to the course tools part. Half of 2 fairways and a hole on the right side and same thing on the left side are cut off. I tried getting additional lidar sections in Hope's that the program would fit the entire course, but that doesn't work. Ideas?

Does the clipping occur in the "course Tools" preview before you export the course to the game? If so would it be possible to use the "Rotation (Degrees)" feature or the "Move Course" feature on the course tools page to get the whole course in the preview?

The "plot" in the course designer is 2000 metres x 2000 metres, Virginia National at Bluemont VA is over 3000 metres long...
Your best bet might be to make each nine a seperate file, and then combine them together side by side, so they will fit in the plot.

What you suggest intrigues me.. how does one join 2 lidar nines together into the same plot from different files?

I tried that but couldn't figure out correct rotation. Mathmatically, based on the champ39 post, that might work, however I can't seem to get it to do so.

This must be what your seeing?
I think that if you had added the actual holes in OSM, it might stretch the plot somewhat, I'm not sure that would help with a course of this length though.
I mashed a load of different lidar holes into a plot once, just to see if I could.
Combining course directories turned out to be pretty easy....it was the learning "how to" that was the tough part lol

Pretty sure as champ said that if you create hole lines on OSM it will expand the plot enough for you.

I've been fiddling around with this today, after adding the holes on OSM...
Ran the tool with auto elevation offset, auto position and rotate, add trees from lidar and tree variety, and fill terrain under blue mask all checked - Got this error
Ran the tool again with auto elevation offset and fill holes under blue mask checked - Got this error
Ran the tool again with just auto elevation offset checked....and it went through OK, it did stretch the plot once the holes were added in OSM.

Fascinating thing. I went back and flagged a few trees and imported them with your successful settings and got something very close to usable. The only thing it did that was weird was in failed to bring in the green on 4, a tee box on 5 and two tee boxes on 14. I will try again tomorrow with a remask and see if that was the issue.
Question.. I have areas that are marked as Managed Forest but I don't think that comes in, what should I use? I really don't want to mark every tree out there.

I've cracked the trees importing, I believe the errors in the tool, are just OSM "server load too high" / internet timeouts, so all you need to do is this, when it happens...
Here is the course with trees added, I'm in the rustic theme, it gives me one poplar tree by the looks of it, different heights, but all facing the same direction...
Adding in tree variety as well, this uses more of the plant meter...
I've always had the 4th green and 5th tee boxes on my versions (see pics above), like you I've never had the tee boxes on the 14th, my theory is that the extended plot, is the cause of these "glitches", it's been known to cause weird things to happen...

I ran the course again and I tried making the course area a little bigger in the mask and got all the tees and greens to show. The only thing it also did was fill the Shenandoah River with soldier rows of trees. Best result so far, and it's now off the races.
