My wife and I just purchased a Peloton and was wondering if anyone on here rode?

I used to ride my road bike quite a lot, but it's still in pieces after the second Alpine ride I did for charity which must be about 8 or 9 years ago now having had to take it apart to transport it on the plane.
In the first one, I rode up l'Alpe d'Huez in 1 hour 29 minutes then took about as long to get back down as I had two broken spokes in my rear wheel and didn't dare take the hairpins at any kind of speed. My friend was already on his second glass of wine by the time I reached the bottom!

Howard Stern's always blabbing about the Peloton, but I can't pedal on a stationary bike. I use a regular bike and hit the parks and mountain bike trails. Better scenery that way.

I got one about a month ago... I'm a former competitive marathon runner- but as I get older I wanted to diversify my workouts (less running, more biking, more rowing). I can see huge improvements already in the month I've owned it (averaging 145 watts for 30 min at purchase, now averaging about 205 watts for 45 min). If I continue to improve, I may dust off my road bike and jump back in the Triathlon game.

I guess people that have em love em. But from somebody that has no clue, but is interested in a stationary bike it looks like a bike with an ipad mounted on the handlebars. All for something like $2 grand?

Yeah thats really all it is but its a quality bike. The classes and leaderboard provide something to compete with.

i always kinda laughed at peleton but ever since the gym has closed due to COVID I have rode it a few times (not my bike but a family member's) and it is actually quite enjoyable and can really get you in good shape. I consider myself a fairly fit individual but a 30 min class can be very challenging.
