i'm a pro player, but moved up through the leagues CC-F to CC-A been thinking of switching to master clubs, lots of practice but struggling with slow/fast /very fast if I try this PROMO event with master clubs as an experiment is there any repercussions if I end up having 4 bad rounds ? No, can't be demoted so feel free to give it a go on Master.

I was able to manually add the pro/master clubsets on my spreadsheet using the filter tabs on the leaderboard, so I updated the projections for round 2.
Didn't change a whole lot - but there are more people on the leaderboards now so the cut scores changed a bit.....
( This is all just my speculation )
Total promotions: 124
Tour / Current Cut - R2 / Projected Final Cut / Spots available
PGA / -29 / -59 (Master clubs) / 7 EURO / -25 / -51 (Master clubs) / 16 KF / -22 / -45 (Master clubs) / 10 CC-A / -22 / -43 / 5 CC-B / -18 / -33 / 32 CC-C / -16 / -31 / 24 CC-D / -14 / -28 / 22 CC-E / N/A / N/A / (No spots available) CC-F / N/A / N/A / (No spots available) CC-G / -3 / -6 / 8

As a side note are there any PGA players playing the Promo event? If so do you take them off your calculations?

As a side note are there any PGA players playing the Promo event? If so do you take them off your calculations? I copy the leaderboard to Excel. Then I had to manually look up each player's tour info - which I put on another sheet so I don't have to do it everytime. Did the same for the clubsets - so my sheet shows tour and clubset. (this will be done for me once Tim updates the leaderboard with the tour and club info columns) There are no PGA players on the leaderboard.. Then - based on the available slots Doyley posted for each of the tours - I go down the list.. Example: I take the top 7 master club players and highlight those as PGA promos - currently it's 4 Euro players and 3 KF's Next for Euro - I hide all the Euro players - then take the top 16 master club users (12 original slots + 4 Euro's moving to PGA = 16) and mark those as Euro promos Rinse and repeat down all the tours. After I do KF - I turn the pro club users back on as they can promote up as high as CC-A... Hope this makes sense.. EDIT: NOTE: For the projected final cuts - I'm pretty much just taking the R2 scores and doubling them - and adding a stroke or two for the upper tours, and removing a stroke or two for the lower tours - this is just based on what I've seen on the leaderboards over the last few seasons..

My gosh Jeff that is a lot of effort!! I and I am sure many others appreciate it greatly. Unless you have a crystal ball or know the exact conditions for Rd 3 & 4 and how they will affect play you really have to do it the way you are. How close has this method come in the previous events you have done?

R1: -8 R2: -9 R3: -11 R4: -13
It's my first bogey-free Promotion Event, ever! But, considering the fact that I'm in CC-A now, I've always been operating under the assumption that I'll be moving up "the hard way" to KF.

My gosh Jeff that is a lot of effort!! I and I am sure many others appreciate it greatly. Unless you have a crystal ball or know the exact conditions for Rd 3 & 4 and how they will affect play you really have to do it the way you are. How close has this method come in the previous events you have done? Usually within about a stroke or 2.. As for the projections - you're right - not knowing how people are going to shoot, I have to just guestimate the final numbers. The cut lines for the specific round we're in are accurate based on the list of people on the board at that time.. Just watching my own tour leaderboard throughout the week - I've been using the round 2 score and doubling it to get an idea where I would place on the final - so I applied the same logic to the promo event - I figured the higher tour players tend to score better - which is why I add a stroke or 2 to the final prediction number - and the mid-tiers are usually at the double mark for the R2 numbers - so if you've shot say -36 for 4 rounds - but after 2 you're at -13 - you can look at where the -18 scores are placed and figure that's about where you'll be when it's all said and done.. Once I have all the data in, the spreadsheet pretty much does all the calculations for me... I started this with the promo events last season, so it's sort of already setup for me .. I just re-copy the leaderboard at different points during the week to update it - especially after the rounds are revealed...so the next update will be tomorrow when the R3 scores are posted.. I really enjoy the tours and doing this is just fun for me - plus I know it helps others try and anticipate where they'll end up - exciting stuff !!

The problem is there are just not many KF spots available - I estimated 10 - but that started at -3 - and 13 current KF players projected to move up - which gives us the 10 available..

got to say , mixed feelings or thoughts
can honestly say, for each and every round, I could/ should of been 4 or 5 shots better per round
it wasn't how I played from tee-green in trying master clubs , bar a few "slows" can't blame that, quite happy and surprised myself with that aspect
it was how many putts from under 10ft, I skimmed the hole or horseshoed the hole half a dozen times, per round, on easy putts
so I can't be too disappointed with a finishing score of -36, but I am
could / should of been a load better

OK, I am out. Two rounds at -6 and -5 on an easy course under benign conditions so there is no point in continuing. I believe this is my last promo event.

Ridiculous scores.
Reason I stopped playing week in and week out as just cant compete with that. I shot -28 on xbox masters, and according to projected only CC-D level.. I know I missed shots, but not even close!

Looks like I will remain locked in on CC-C as my -23 isn't going to be close to stepping up if I'm reading this correct.
